We came across this bar after one of our friends recommended it in a previous stay. You have the option of either indoor or patio seating and you pick your own tables. ** Note -- in Saõ Paolo air conditioning is not a must like it is in Texas, so if you choose to sit inside be prepared to sweat since only the ceiling fans are operating.**
Once we picked a nice spot on the patio, a really nice waiter approached us to take our order. I automatically went for my poison, a caipirinha. Now, unlike in the USA, you get to pick your liquor. You can have it made with rum like in the States or go with the homegrown fire water known as Cachaça. When in Rome do like the Romans, right??? I went for the real deal Cachaça and loved it. They also give you the option to add fruit to your drink and I went for the passion fruit on the first round and pineapple in the next. Oh my giblets!!! Those drinks were God sent. So refreshing, had such a kick to them, and just all around excellent libations.
We needed some food to compliment our drinks and ordered the legendary coxinha do frango and porco and pasteles. I was in love! Now I love me some street food and the coxinha was amazing. The dough was fluffy and lightly fried and the pork and chicken stuffing was so perfectly seasoned and tender that it was a match made in heaven. The pasteles were great also, my favorite being the ones stuffed with the heart of palm due to the tangy taste.
The vibe is absolutely laid back, the service is great and the food and drinks are not something you will want to miss. The only thing I wish they had was a strong cool A/C for those hot and sweaty summer nights (1st world problems, right???)
