Great vibe with a mix of locals and visitors where friendly conversations are struck up as easily as wine is poured. Charlie plays great music, is professional, friendly and we shared many good laughs. Above all, great wine. I had high hopes after my mother sent me this place and the google reviews were so great, especially the ones raving over the pizza. We made a reservation and walked over. We were seated immediately, scanned the menu on the QR code and ordered about 15 minutes after sitting down. We were served our drinks pretty quickly after ordering, but the reason I take two stars off is for two things: the food took over 45 minutes to come out, and when it came out, the food was cold and my pasta was slightly undercooked, as well as the two pieces of basil and barely any cheese on our entire pizza was disappointing. I never saw another waiter or waitress again to address any concerns or anyone just to ask if we needed anything in general. So my mother and I ate the cold food, which was pretty good, but not all the craze I was seeing on google. Also, they charge an extra euro to pay online through the QR code, which we had no choice but to do when, like I said, we never saw the waitress again. I would try to come on a slower night

Their…read morereservations were booked out and unfortunately the staff didn't have any availability for walk-ins, but we lucked out because one of their reservations was a no-show and we were able to take that spot after waiting about 15 minutes. The energy of the restaurant was electric as soon as we walked in. It was loud and packed to the brim, yet still had a cozy vibe thanks to the interior design and lighting. Our server was friendly and helped answer our questions regarding menu items and recommendations. Since the restaurant was packed, it did take a really, really long time to get our food and drinks. Normally I would dock a star for that alone, but their food was so good, I had to tack a star back on. Their truffle pasta quite literally melted in your mouth and bursted with flavor. Their pizzas were perfectly baked and the crust was phenomenal. The combination of toppings were unique and well-chosen, and the pizzas thus had fantastic flavor. Their drinks were refreshing and went well with the food we ordered. Overall, the ambiance and food shine at Palatino and grant a very enjoyable experience.

Even though the patio is nice in good weather, the tables and chairs are tiny so opt for indoors for a bit more comfort. The owner/chef and his wife are welcoming and warm to everyone, regulars and 1st timers alike. Wine selection was small, but offered great choices by the glass or bottle. Best Italian food during my entire stay in Bordeaux! Delicate thinly sliced veal with tuna was an excellent appetizer, the famous lasagna was a delicious generational secret recipe, the boar ragu was both hearty and light with perfectly done balance of pasta and stew. Even though I usually pass on dessert, the tiramisu was worth a stop, light, not too sweet, and a perfect ending with coffee.
