Let's disregard the weirdness that is this Swedish infatuation with Brooklyn Brewery and its solid but not fantastic tasting beer as well as the NYC borough itself during this review. (for the record, I lived in that giant country for a long time and I loved it)
I like the thought that went into the decor, lighting, vibe and the location. Seating is community tables mixed with booth style couch solutions. When you walk into this establishment you realize very quickly that it has actually decided on a theme, a target patron and what atmosphere they are going for--all things which are very unique among the seemingly bland and indecisive Stockholm bars.
Is it original and super awesome, or is it whatever the interior decorator picked up from their last trip to Williamsburg? You guessed it.
They keep busy with lots of events and it's a roomy space with fairly good capacity. It's also connected to the Debaser Strand venue that hosts a good amount of music artists worth checking out.
Other things:
The kitchen closes at 10pm and I have yet to manage to show up hungry before then, so my guess is as good as yours about the food. The chili burger seems interesting though. They have more than just beer. Fussball table. Big screen projector for World Cup and sports things.
The staff could up their game as far as service and speed, and when I asked what the "guest beer on tap" is at the Brooklyn Brewery Bar, I didn't expect the bartender to say: Brooklyn Brown Ale...
All in all, it's all good. It's a very solid hangout spot with a laid back attitude. read more
