This was our absolute favorite cafe/bar/restaurant/pub that we found on our 2 week Scandinavian vacation. The decor can't be matched. It's unique and funky. We could have stayed here all morning. They have games you can play as well. The chai latte was fantastic and my husband loved the In Bed with the Enemy drink. Their waffles were delicious too. We got one with ham and blueberry jam and one with goat cheese and raspberry jam and loved them both! If you have to pick one place to stop in Bergen, this should be it!! read more

My 200th review! Our Norwegian adventure had to include this place. It's the chandeliers that first got my attention (a sucker for elaborate lighting) but of course it's the promise of good coffee that got me inside. As it happens, we arrive here for a night cap on a cold October evening and immediately I'm struck by the lovely, laid back atmosphere. I would love something like to this to be in Birmingham but wonder if our drinking culture means the coffee would be over looked come the darker hours in favour of beer and worse, the beautiful interior being ruined by the odd out-of-control drunks! Anyway, the highlight was actually the DJ playing an erratic mix of old rock tunes! The drinks? We had a Blondie (basically a white hot chocolate concoction) and an After Eight Latte. Not normally drinks I would go for in a coffee shop by any stretch of the imagination but we were swept away by the lovely vibes! Only 4 stars because Norway is so crazily pricy! read more

This place is amazingly cool. You will be blown away by the decor, especially by the paintings on the ceiling. It's overwhelming and very trippy. Seriously, words cannot describe what you'll experience when you walk through the door - just go and see. Their iced mocha coffee was the best I had on my entire trip. We were there for hours actually, it was so relaxing and fun so I had three coffees. Good beer selection. We tried the waffles which is a must - very nicely done and the strawberry jam was so tasty. There are many board games and the seating is so comfortable. I never wanted to leave the couch I was on. We were there on a rainy day and it really was the perfect place to drink coffee, chat and take in the crazy decor. Even the area in the bathrooms downstairs is decorated. Stopped in here twice now and couldn't be happier with it. Not too many coffee shops named Starbucks make a white hot chocolate, but this place does and boy is it tasty. To go with our chocolate that's hot we got the traditional waffle with I think cheese. Sounds weird, right? 'Twas amazing. We made this place into our home away from home. The servers were very friendly and the decor is sooo unique and has soooo much character. They have an outside patio for smokers and sell coffee as well as alcohol. The food was delicious, mainly sandwiches and waffles but they were more than what they sound. Been here a few times, really nice artsy atmosphere, eccentric/hipster-y decor, good coffee, good waffles (though what is with the lack of syrup in Norway?). Cute little bar! My Norwegian friend took me here because she said this place had the best Norwegian waffles. She ordered the waffle the brown cheese, which I loved! I ordered the one with Brie, nuts, and syrup. Didn't like that too much, but if you're a fan of peanuts, you'll love it. I ordered it thinking there'd be non-peanut nuts. Also, we ordered some chocolate that they sell at the bar. I got a little bit of everything. My favorite were the tiny little balls filled with coffee and the flat stone-like looking chocolates that held hardened caramel inside. Yum! Also, if you like cognac, the large white chocolate balls are filled with cognac inside. Oh and the almonds covered with chocolate was good too! The "dj" seemed cool, spinning vintage records.
