Oh man....My eyes must have lit up like dynamite when I saw a Pho place in the middle of Europe…read more The plain but savory broth that coats your tongue with salty flavor and warms your throat as it goes down...Ahh, how I've missed the fragrant herbs I drown in the soup while twirling away at the rice noodles with a chopstick. I've just spent 6 whole days teaching English to Polish participants in a remote countryside being given free accommodation and food. Polish is good but hearty but just rich often with a lot of meat. After six days of eating this stuff, and with 3 full square meals a day, I'm ready to go on a 60 day fasting period. Luckily I didn't have to because I happened upon this restaurant. For what it's worth here in Europe, the Pho is good. Nothing spectacular like I would have in Little Saigon, aka., South Sacramento or sometimes San Jose, but definitely hits the spot.

The best pho I tasted in Warsaw so far. The broth is rich and aromatic. And it comes in a big bowl,…read morejust as the name of the place promises. I recommend the pho z tatarem. The hot broth cooks the tartar meat just to the right degree. It's also well seasoned and comes in a generous portion. The chicken pho is also good. Besides noodles, Duża Miska also offers standard dishes like crispy chicken and 5-spice (whatever). Prices are higher than your typical chinczyka, but entirely reasonable by Warsaw standard.

Best Chinese in Warsaw. And I will go further: one of the best Chinese Restaurants globally. I…read morerecently moved to Warsaw after 25 years in New York City. It goes without saying that New York has some stellar Chinese restaurants. And my wife and I (who spent 7 years of her childhood in Taipei) have explored everything in New York. From Flushing to Sunset Park. And we've eaten our share in Asia also. We know our Chinese food. And so: Cesarski Palac is genius. It might not appeal to people who are accustomed to "American" Chinese Food (though they do have an amazing sweet and sour chicken). This place has all the weird regional dishes that entire restaurants are devoted to in NYC. X'ian noodles? Check. Szechuan hot pot? Check. Cumin Lamb? Check. Dongbei offerings in general? Check. So proud of them for busting out the challenging (only on a menu, not the flavors) dishes. Yes, certain dumplings are meh. The pork buns are a bit disappointing. But the majority of the dishes are outstanding. And I CRAVE things from here! Decor? Clichéd "Chinese Restaurant" circa 1981. But who cares? The food is great and it's sometimes nice to be thrown back in time. Staff? On the ball and pleasant. Customers? At any given time of day the majority of the customers are...Chinese. We tried to eat on Chinese New Year and were thwarted. Wall to wall people, all of them Chinese. No seats available. A very good sign. Cheers to this place!
