The 10-minute ride ended up costing me over $2,000--for what was essentially just a taxi ride. I tried to dispute the charge with my insurance, but they couldn't track down the company. Months later, I received a lawsuit from a law firm in another state, demanding payment for this "ambulance ride." After doing some research and reading other reviews, I found that many people have had similar experiences. In my opinion, this company seems to operate on a questionable business model, targeting vulnerable tourists who are in pain or disoriented. I've consulted with a lawyer, who informed me that in order to garnish wages or take further legal action, they would need legal representation in my state--so they can't just go after me without following proper procedures. My advice to anyone in a similar situation: Ask a lot of questions upfront. Get everything in writing. Don't assume just because someone at a resort says it's "medical transport" that it's a legitimate service. Trust me, you don't want to learn this the hard way like I did.
