I went to the Bannatyne's Spa for a hen do last weekend. Although all of us received excellent treatments, the facility itself was more than lacking. They did not have any way to redeem the electronic vouchers we purchased from groupon, so the maid of honour had to find the one spot where her phone could get a signal and e-mail each individual voucher to the front desk. It took her about 30 minutes. Throughout the experience, the lady at reception was anything but helpful.
We then found out that all additional items were an added price. It was £3 for the use of a towel, robe and slippers and an additional £1 for the use of a locker. Yet another surprise was when we went to get our treatments and found out that all of their rooms were doubles. Thankfully we were all good humoured, but it was extremely awkward to get a massage in the same room as a girl I didn't know very well.
We were told we were not allowed to bring in champagne, yet another hen do there had it and they did nothing about it. Their 'Cafe Bar' is more of just a cafe, as they don't serve alcohol, either. In addition, this was the only place in the resort we were allowed to use phones and it was more like the atmosphere in a McDonalds than one in a spa.
Overall, we were less than satisfied by the service. read more
