Went through drive-up to cash 2 small checks, was told I had to go in because of "bank policy." Went in, it took them 20 minutes of screen time and phone calls to cash. After-which they threatened to withhold my money unless I provided them with my phone number. When I pointed out the obvious (you don't need that...[they had my ID]), they were visibly unhappy with me and made more phone calls. There was no apologetic attitude for the inconvenience; they appeared very comfortable with their contempt for those who make their job possible. This was my 1st time there, and I was doing a simple transaction that I had performed numerous times through the years (at other banks) without incident. I'm surprised and saddened that people would subject themselves to such poor service.

Go in branch to follow up after no response for weeks. Paperwork seems to have been misplaced. filled out at the branch with an employee, and same thing weeks later, somehow it's like it never existed. Every time I call for an update, no one seems to know what's going on. It's been constant back-and-forth with no real progress. I finally escalated the issue and spent hours on hold with their 1-800 number and uploading these documents for a third time on a portal. They tried to then say I'd have to wait another 4-6 weeks for a review and resolution in the matter!? I requested them to escalate and expedite the process as I shouldn't have to wait on account of their mistakes. There has to be a better system. Friendly staff means nothing when problems never get resolved.

She closed the accounts and put her coat on to go home without giving me my money I had in 2 accounts. I come back from vacation to find out that one was never closed. Now she says I have to call a 1800 number to get it all resolved after clicking on the computer for 25 minutes of my life. Went to the Santander on Rockdale it was like night and day. Didn't need a 1800 number.

I did a lot of research before I joined Baycoast. And by a lot of research I mean that Westport…read moreonly has three or four banks at the most, and Bank of America wasn't an option. So all in all I really only had one choice within a 7 mile drive of me, and that was the Baycoast in Tiverton. This is the new Baycoast location. I was actually quite happy when it opened, because let's be realistic, although I have a Baycoast somewhat near my house, when I am going into town for whatever reason, I hated driving one direction to turn around and go the other direction. What I love about this location: It's brand new, so it's clean inside, the employees are nice, and when you go to the ATM or drive through, there's a farm right behind it with all sorts of cattle. It's quite picturesque. What I don't like about this bank in general: I hate that it's only drive through ATM's. Sometimes you aren't the one driving, and it's not realistic to go to a drive through ATM. If you are deciding on a bank in Westport, this bank hasn't screwed me yet, and I am not a fan of having a bank account (I dealt in cash for many years), so I suppose this one is good.
