To whom it may concern, after 5 years of being a good customer, I will be leaving Bank Austria, I…read moream very disappointed with the service I have received, have had multiple problems with the bank, and I have always given another chance, but now is enough. I have always done my part as customer, but I dont feel I can trust the bank any longer. I dont believe the bank is able to 1) securely store my money, 2) make it accessible to me when I need it, 3) or move it as needed. Several examples: 1) 10,000€ randomly disappeared from my account. After contacting the bank, I was told there was an "error" on the side of the bank and they replaced the money several weeks later. This is UNACCEPTABLE, how can I trust that the money is there when I need it. 2) I was travelling in Asia a year ago over new years time, and the bank without any warning, shutdown the ability to withdraw money from an ATM for 3 days, I was left with no chance to get cash, luckily I was with my girlfriend and she was able to get cash. But I travel often alone, and it is UNACCEPTABLE that without warning I cannot get cash from my bank account when I need it. If your travelling in remote places where only cash is taken, how am I suppose to get basic supplies, food, shelter. 3) I recently tried to transfer 15,000€ to my bank account in the US. I needed it done urgently, paying additional money to expedite. The money never showed up in my US bank account, after calling around, I have to go back to the bank in person to find out it was stuck in London saying they needed passport and address, all items which I gave at the bank in person. I never received a message. The bank colleague is now saying he is waiting for feedback from Vienna and London, the process does not seem to work. The money was supposed to be back in my bank account already Tuesday, now 3 days later it is still not in my bank account. In total the money has been out of my account for 2 weeks, this is UNACCEPTABLE. I was told I should talk to my "kunden beratung" etc., I dont care who is my kunden beratung, I am a customer of the bank and expect service from anyone to resolve issues IMMEDIATELY when there is a failure! Reason 1 is already enough to quit, in short, 3 failures I will definitely not accept. I will NOT recommend Bank Austria to anyone, I am changing next week because the above 3 issues should be basic requirements of a bank, I never experienced this problem anywhere else with banks and I have had multiple in the US, Germany, Denmark, etc. You need to work on your processes to make stuff work seamlessly, you should have NO failures by managing people's money. Get your act together!

I arrived in Austria in late August and immediately set about opening an Easybank account. Whilst…read moreworking long hours I waited to hear I had opened an account. They eventually replied over 3 weeks later simply asking for my overseas address. I again took time off work to send them this before they sent all my banking details (which I needed to receive my wages) to my Austrian address but sent the bank card (which I needed to have access to the money) to New Zealand. When I informed them of this obvious error they didn't bother with an apology and simply said I could apply for another card to be sent to my Austrian address. This whole ordeal has cost me hundreds of dollars in international transaction fees alone and I have now put travel plans on hold while I wait for the card to arrive. It has taken me over two months to open this account I cannot even use or have access to. I wouldn't recommend easybank to my worst enemy.

In my life i tried a fair amount of banks in different countries, I can say that my experience with…read moreeasybank has been the worst I had so far. This bank is a joke run by clowns. But let's go into the details of my experience. I first opened a bank account at Ing Diba as they have good conditions and a nice web interface. If you speak german definetely pick Ing Diba and do not make the mistake of going with easybank. I unfortunately don't speak german and I was attracted by easybank because of the english app and internet banking website. The main reason why I need a bank account is because I want to have a credit card (real credit card, not prepaid or debit). So after having decided that Ing Diba was not for me because of the completely german interface I tried to open an account at easybank. Here starts the first nightmare. 2 days and a lot of time lost to try to open a bank account. Trial 1: I open Safari on my macbook and I start to fill all the necessary information. The process takes around 30 minutes as I need to translate some of the fields I don't know how to fill. At the end of the process I click on "Verify your Identity" and the website crashes and sends me back to the homepage. I check my email, nothing, all the data got lost. Trial 2: A bit annoyed I open Chrome and go through the whole registration process again, 20 minutes lost. This time the "Verify your Identity" button works, I am asked to pick one option to verify my identity, I see there is an option to verify identity online via a video call. Quite cool I think! I start the procedure, I wait for an operator to be available, and I complete the procedure, it takes around 30 minutes. I go back to the easy bank website, I would need to upload some documents but there i button that says "upload documents later", I click on it and I'm redirected to the homepage. I am a bit worried again.. I wait one day and no email yet from easybank. So I write an email to them asking if they have my data. I get a reply saying that they have lost all my data and that this is a known problem ( Why do you give to possibility of doing web identification then? Shouldn't you fix it first?), and I get as email attachment an empty form where I have to enter all the data from the very beginning. Trial 3 I restart the subscription process on easybank website and this time I choose verification via mailman and it works finally! Incredible I think! It's a dream! Credit Card Story: After one week and a half I get my credentials to finally access my account online! Unbelievable! I find out that to get a credit card I have to send a request separately. I look into it and I find the webpage where I have to enter the data necessary for the form. I enter the data and at the end it asks to confirm to confirm that I have my main residency and I work in Austria for 1 year at least. WHAAAAT? I mean, for real? Worried, I send an email to the customer service, asking if it is really necessary to be living in Austria for one year. I get this reply: ""Sehr geehrter ---, Vielen Dank für Ihre Nachricht! Mit freundlichen Grüßen easybank AG"" Mmm interesting I think, on their website they advertise that they provide a credit card for free and now they want 10 euros... But 10 euros are not gonna change my life and since I already lost all this time I move on, fill the form and send it. Other 30 mins lost. After a while I get a reply that is not possible to have a credit card if I am not in Austria for at least one year. I mean, are you serious? I ask you if it's possible to get a credit card even if not and you tell me to fill the form to then reply it is not possible? I think an automatic reply from a computer would have been smarter whoever replied to me! Furthermore nowhere on the website is stated that this is a condition to get a credit card. I have no words really.. Please stay away from easybank and save yourself some trou
