It's even slightly cheaper than the other Asian store by Norreport. Definitely appreciate that they have fresh vegetables and the like in the back at fair prices (for CPH standards). They've got lots of frozen items (dim sum, dumplings, fish balls, etc), seasonings, dried noodles - everything you could possibly need. It reminded me of home. Plan on coming back, even if it's a trek.

Of course, they have normal sized versions as well. The prices are good, and their stock is pretty comparable to other Asian stores in Vesterbro. I think their main attraction is the bulk items (dried mushrooms), and some things which you can buy in multiples at a slight discount (seasonings and such). It was also one of the busiest grocery stores I've been to in a while, but that might be due to the fact that is was a Saturday and the food market was on in Kødbyen.

Thai: They have a huge selection of Thai curry and soup spices in cans, small bags of paste, and as dried spices. I prefer the paste as it just makes less work for me (can just open can). Fresh Thai herbs in the back cold room like lemongrass and basil. Japanese: There is a shelf full of all the things you need to make sushi from the sushi rice, vinegar, nori wraps, wasabi paste, to the bamboo roller. Also some Japanese snacks like nori crackers. There is also boxes of Golden Curry cubes which are my favourite lazy/last minute cooking helpers. Chinese: They also have amazing amounts of Lee Kum Kee Chinese sauces. I really recommend the "black bean & garlic" sauce. It will totally elevate your chicken and vegetable stir fry so that it tastes like it came from a restaurant. The prices at the BaBaLi Asien Marked are a bit lower, but Thai Supermaked has larger selection. Korean: ok, I didn't actually see that much Korean stuff. Mostly just Korean brand instant noodles (which, in my opinion, are the tastiest and spiciest instant noodles). Cannot describe all the great things in that store. Love it. Would be even better if they had a bigger selection of fresh produce!

Great selection of all sorts of ethnic food stuffs. It's a little mind bending to me that this…read morerelatively small shop can pack so many things onto its shelves: middle eastern, african, indian, chinese, filipino....and so on. Now that I've had the chance to go a few times and really look at the shelves, I've realized that the more time I spend in there, the more things I find. It's really a great shop to explore. Part of the fun of this shop is the incredibly wide variety of ethnic foods they carry. (Yes, I think grocery shops are fun...and the more variety the better). These guys seem to have no sign over their door. At first I thought they were just a part of Afghan Marked which has their door at the street corner because their outside veggie stands makes it look like one continuous shop. But they're not! And Kabul, which has their entrance just a few steps further down Reventlowsgade is better part of the strangely conjoined Afghan/Kabul store front. Some random things that I was happy to find here are salt-free 100% peanut butter, Shana brand frozen paranthas, loose and bagged Ahmad teas. Not that you can't get these things at other places, but rarely are you going to find a one-stop shop for them. Frozen seafood selection is also good. Often there are cheap cheap 1 kilo bags of large shell-on tiger shrimp for half the price you would pay anywhere else. Seriously good stuff. The spice and fresh veggie selection is also impressive compared to other CPH ethnic shops.

Basically, it is an overgrown kiosk with an amazingly varied, specialized, and organic selection of foods and non-foods. Apparently kimchi is the only thing they don't make themselves due to storage issues, but he assured me that it is made by a competent Korean lady. That seems reasonable, so I can let that go. However, when I got the bao it came with a big leaf of romaine between the filling and the bun. While I understand that it is to keep the bun from getting soggy, it seemed out of place and watered down the taste a bit too much without lending much texture. Even cabbage would have been a better bet. The pork was tender but a little too sweet so I was left wishing the kimchi was a bit stronger. All in all, not a bad bao (can any of them be so bad?) but this isn't about to become my go-to. I must agree with Eva K; I enjoy trying many different things so I prefer smaller buns. I do, however, prefer my bao as bite size so I could eat more than just one, I guess it's just spill of my good tastebuds :P The pork soya one is good, although I can't vouch for the chicken one (since I don't eat poultry). I still prefer Maobao's bao than this one though, simply because Maobao is smaller (hence the chance to try various flavour for same price) and that they're better in combining the flavour (those peanut crumbles!). That said, I'm pretty happy that there's bao truck in Copenhagen anyway :P

They don't have a large fresh vegetables selection, but there are a few cabbages and Chinese greens in the fridges. If you bring back your receipt for next time, they will give you 10% off your next 200 Kr purchase (or 5% off a purchase less than 200 Kr). For that deal, I'm willing to make space in my wallet for that receipt.

this place surprised me after i thought i'd already visited every asian market in vesterbro. on…read morefirst glance it may not look like they have a lot, but there are a few gems. the prices on most products are slightly lower than the other shops closer to the central station. they also have a few more korean items that the others are missing, like 5 kinds of frozen dumplings and seasoned laver/seaweed in wasabi and kimchi flavour. they even have it plain in full-sized sheets; the first time i've seen it sold anywhere in denmark. they don't have so much in the way of greens, tofu, and other fresh things. but if you need to stock up on pantry items or snacks, this place is worth popping your head into.
