Great Thai food! After a week of stuffing our faces with pizza and pasta in southern Switzerland,…read morewe were craving something different. This happened to be the first Thai place we encountered while out on a walk, and it was just what we needed. I had the chicken satay, and it was excellent. Just the right amount of heat, and very flavorful. The mango ice tea was more mango than tea, very refreshing. Service was very good, even with a little bit of a language barrier. Sit outside if the weather permits it! We had a little table surrounded by pretty hanging lights, perfect for a relaxing evening.

While we still ended up spending 59 CHF, we could've managed a little better. The lunch buffet is all you can eat for maximum 32.50 CHF. However, you probably won't get to that maximum. My plate was 22.30 CHF while my mom's was 16.55 CHF. The soup is 7 CHF and table water is 3 CHF per person. So if you're trying to save, maybe bring your water and skip the soup (although it was very good).

They serve only a small number of dishes (including a vegetarian option, which I tasted), and I tend to take that as an indication that the food is freshly prepared. While the interior may require some more work, the staff (owners?) make a real effort to make customers feel welcome. The food was good and seemed fairly authentic (from what I can tell). There is also a fridge with some exotic foods to purchase for your own kitchen adventures. Take-aways are 1 CHF extra, because the containers hold more food than what fits on a plate as used in-store. I recommend this place.

A decent place for Thai food in Zurich with good portions and affordable (for Switzerland) prices…read more There weren't many places open on Sunday evening so we were glad this was open and near our hotel. Seating is really interesting, as they have a few large tables for communal seating and a few smaller tables. If it's empty though, they space customers out pretty well. We ordered the ka prao pork, papaya salad and tom kha with chicken and a side of rice. Everything was pretty good. The papaya is Thai style and slightly sweet but I actually prefer that. Could have used a little bit of fish sauce in the soup but it was still delicious. I would return here next time I'm in Zurich.

My wife ordered Pad Thai with prawns and I ordered a red curry. It seemed like it took a while to get our food but that may have been because we were so hungry. Both dishes were fantastic! The red curry was fairly spicy and we both liked it better than the pad Thai. The bill was a little higher than we were expected but as this was the only restaurant we ate at in Zurich I have to assume that it is close to average for the city.

Coming from NYC where there is a Thai restaurant almost every 10 meters or less I was optimistic when I saw so many Thai restaurants in Zurich. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with great art on the walls, fresh flower arrangements on every table (not just a dinky little sad carnation in a cheap vase), lots of plants outside the restaurant, nice table mats, etc. Maybe I should've stuck to a less Westernized dish but I was craving noodles and got the pad thai and found it just lacking in a lot of ways. The noodles were overcooked and although I got plenty of crushed peanuts, lime and fresh sprouts which are all key, there was too much fish sauce and not enough other flavor. I ended up eating all the fresh Thai basil off my fiance's plate to get some flavor dimension to my meal. There wasn't a lot of chicken in my CHF 25 dish either. And to be honest, I did not think the portion was comparable to what Zurich portions usually are. My fiance's duck red curry was the perfect amount of spicy (plenty of fresh chillies which was much appreciated) but I find curries to be very hard to mess up. There were grapes and canned pineapples in the curry which was interesting and added a little sweetness and tartness to the spicy dish. The service was excellent and they brought pretzels and crackers out when you order. They didn't have larb which was majorly disappointing but they did have beautiful menus! For beers, there are only Singha and one non-alcoholic beer available but there was a much longer red and white wine list. The place is super clean and would be a great date spot (if you're ok with being in a mostly empty restaurant which seems par for the course for a lot of Zurich restaurants), there's outdoor seating (but not much of a view), and they're open for lunch which is CHF ~17.

We arrived during rush hour lunch and the people were still friendly and happy to answer my questions about the food and taste. Don't expect more than that since they're busy, but they were never rude. Food: authentic Thai food at an amazing price. We had the vegetarian pad Thai for 10CHF and a chicken curry rice combo for 15CHF. Since the portions are large, my friend and I split so we'd get more variety. It's not the most amazing or tasteful Thai food, but for the price and portion, it's fantastic for a tourist who's been paying out of the nose for public transportation.
