Banco Montepio used to be Montepio Geral but changed its name and is based in Lisbon. Founded in 1844, this branch in Cascais is a lot newer. I stopped in to use their ATM. The cashpoint is located outside and is in the center of the building with plenty of space on both sides. I like an ATM where I can easily see everything around me and knowing there are no hiding areas for people to use for sneaking up on me. The exchange rate for my cash withdrawal was pretty bad though it includes a fee for using the ATM in addition to the conversion rate. It should be around 1 EUR = 1.07 USD.
