By the end of another exhilarating, yet exhausting year, I needed some pampering really, really bad. Like really bad. So before heading off on holiday with the family this Xmas I decided to squeeze in a day devoted to me and only me. I wanted this very special day to start with a super indulgent spa treatment with the goal of checking out from reality 100%, leaving my mind and my body total mush. A lot easier said than done, starting with choosing the right place to indulge! I finally chose Ban Sabaï after reading the incredible reviews on Yelp (thanks Cécile F for nailing it!) and booked a three hour spa treatment from 10am-1pm on a Friday morning. I counted down the days and then the hours to this take-off to bliss as if my life depended on it. Once the morning came I was giddy with excitement! Three hours of indulgence! Holy crap! As soon as I stepped into the dark, fragrant spa full of welcoming, smiling people, I could feel my blood pressure starting to drop and my mind letting go. There was still work to be done but the effects were immediate. I was led to a private room down a long hall underground that was like a modern crypt. In it were two beds, a very fancy shower and a candle-lit jacuzzi. Hello!! The treatment began with a warm shower, then led into a 50-minute gommage/ massage that was amazingly relaxing and super soothing. A quick hop into the shower again to wash away the exfoliant and then I was brought to the bath to soak for 30 minutes while sipping tea and nibbling on fresh fruit. DIVINE! But the best party was definitely saved for last: a 1.5hr Thai massage that was by far the best massage I've ever had!! My petite, adorable masseuse actually hopped up on the table several times to get the best pressure/angle combo to combat all of the tension in my neck and back. Needless to say the only thing that made the end of the massage palatable was the promise of something to settle my now-grumbling stomach, which had worked up an appetite after all of this intense zenitude. So after a couple of weeks of suffering from leg and back pains, I decided to finally do something about it. After reading Ziva's review about this place, I was sold. There are 2 locations next to each other: the one with an entrance Rue St.Antoine is for feet massages and the one around the corner on Rue de Lesdiguières is the one you're looking for. I asked for the 50 minute traditional Thai massage (85€) but after having one of the better massages I've had, I decided to go for the 10 pack which brings the price down to 65€. Very professional and friendly, my masseuse asked throughout the massage if the pressure was right. I brought my own swim trunks but it was not necessary. They provided me with extremely baggy pants that I tied on and a button up shirt. After the massage, I was delighted to be served hot tea with a plate of fresh fruits. Fabulous, absolutely first rate massages! We got the deep tissue oil massage & couldn't be happier with the results. The masseuses were both very skilled & know exactly what they are doing. I get on average one massage every 2 weeks back in the State, so I can tell the difference within the first five minutes with a new masseuse. Top notch! My partner and I had a couples Hammam and oil massage. The place was clean and well decorated and we enjoyed both the Hammam and massages. The ladies were friendly and they accommodated us without a booking. Only reason for 4 stars was the price and that the massage didn't last the full hour. read more

I came from America to visit Europe and stayed in Paris for a week. I had a traditional Thai massage at the beginning of the week and it was so good that I came back for another on my last day in the city. The staff were friendly and courteous. My practitioner was very strong yet very sensitive. She could give my body the intense work it needs while also paying close attention to how my body reacted and politely asking if ever in doubt. The environment is incredibly relaxing, with the perfect music and lighting. At the end, they offered me tea and fruit in a special room, which was the perfect way to stay relaxed and savor the experience.
