I ordered a tomato, cheese, and ham crêpe with and a chai tea with steamed milk. The crêpe was well prepared, thin and light, the way crêpes should be, and the chai tea was of good quality and presented nicely with a small container of steamed milk on the side. They have free wi-fi and play great music. Will definitely stop in here again on my next visit.

The staff are ok, but the owner and his wife are very unwelcoming to those trying to do work on computers or using wifi. On my last visit, my husband and I got drinks and worked on our electronic devices for about an hour and a half. Then the owner's wife asked us if we wanted more drinks, but we decided against it because we only planed to stay for about 15 more minutes. At that point she said we would have to pay a Euro and hour for the wifi if we stayed any longer. We weren't even using the wifi -- I was reading my kindle and my husband was doing work oh his computer that didn't require Internet. This was extremely irritating because 1) we felt like we were being monitored, 2) nobody else was inside the cafe creating competition for seating space, and 3) we don't think only ordering one beverage each in under two hours is overstaying our welcome, especially when we have spent a fair amount of money at this place in the past. Needless to say we immediately paid up and left, telling them we wouldn't be returning. Normally in Germany cafes and restaurants have no problem with you staying well after you have finished drinking or dining -- not this place though.

There is a perfect amount of locomotion on the street so you'll never get bored even when your friends are telling the same old story you've listened to a million times already. The staff is usually friendly and speaks sufficient to good english. The only downsides I can see is that the place will get crowded and quite smoked-up during winter and because of German nighttime noise regulations you'll have to head inside after midnight. But that's not enough to warrant the loss of a star. Oh and yes, this place serves cider!

The tea here is very fresh I must say. Karl Schmidt - the story of tea in Göttingen. My favourite teas are Earl Grey, Cinnamon Tea, Cream Tea (aroma - not food like in Somerset). The staff can give you good advice. They also sell good pepper corns here, spices, Walkers biscuits from the UK. The china is lovely and very British. Oh yes, they have a big selection of marmelades and jams. A must!

In the cafe, you can also sit outside near the city-wall of Göttingen. Persian food and drink is available here. The atmosphere is cosy with a candle burning on the tables.
