They give you your chart to sign paper work, after you fill that out you go to the back and get test done for drug and pregnancy. The girls in the we're so sweet and kind very helpful. Took me back into the front one of the girls came to me and said your going to need to pay for cell saver. I felt bullied she kept saying anesthesiologist isn't going to do your surgery with 11.6, that was confusing because I thought the doctor made the decisions. So I told her my doctor said that all of it was good and that I did not need that it was my choice my decision if I wanted to have it or not, she keep pushing. I told her we're going to wait till the blood work comes back my surgeon specifically said I didn't need it. They did another CDC to make sure that I absolutely don't need it the numbers were above 12.6. That day I got a text that my surgery is scheduled @ 445p. So I went to my recovery house, next day there were 2 girls that had surgery before me. One girl had surgery at 11a she went in and didn't get seen until 2p, the other went in and didn't have surgery til after 4p when I was supposed to be getting prepped. I got a text just before I was going to leave for my surgery that I'm scheduled at 1pm tomorrow for post-op. I called knowing that the doctor was running late to make sure that my surgery was still on, when I spoke to the lady she told me my surgery was canceled and that I am now scheduled for tomorrow at 1p, I said I am very upset as I have waited all day to eat now its 3p and I have to wait another day till surgery, pushing back my recovery time massages that I already had scheduled. I said to her you're confirming that my appointment today is canceled and now I am scheduled tomorrow correct she said yes and apologize for all the inconvenience. I get a call from the office at 545p asking where am I for my surgery, as you can imagine I was very upset because I didn't need to eat at 3p I could have waited and had the surgery now I have to wait for the next day to have surgery. When they reviewed what happened I spoke with an AI not an actual person. The next day I went in at 9a because I had not received a time for my surgery but I was told by an actual staff member, I made sure to ask are you a real person am I coming in for surgery tomorrow and she said yes. I get there I get signed in and then one of the girls takes me to a room and she says I'm going to be real frank with you, when I spoke with you yesterday I had a lot of things going on and confused you with another patient your surgery is actually on Thursday. At this point I'm livid because now I'm losing another day for recovery and massages and everything else I had paid for, mind you I'm supposed to be flying home on Saturday not enough time to feel safe or recovered after a surgery. I said this will be the last time I get pushed back. Thursday comes around I get a time for surgery at 430am, I get there we do another urine test, Dr Simmons comes in he states what surgery I'm getting starts to mark me up, then I sat there till 9a when Dr Simmons walks in and says he cannot do my surgery coordinator is going to come in to talk to me. At this point I am highly upset and confused and I'm not going to wait another day to have surgery. The lovely lady that did the urine test and blood draw came in she could see how upset I was as I had been there since early this morning and she asked me if another doctor was available would I be willing to see them I said of course I really need to have surgery today or I need to get my money back. They brought in Dr Sophie Lessard. She deserves a separate review for her as she deserved a 5 I had the best experience with Dr Sophie Lessard I'm glad she was kind enough and did my surgery, I was added on to her last minute, already marked up, she entered the room with confidence a beautiful smile very easy to talk to as if I picked her from the beginning. She made me feel so comfortable I was in good hands. Dr. Sophie thank you for being empathetic to my needs, respectful, kind and understanding in this whole situation.

I found the surgery center Dr. Gelb previously worked at on instagram, and there were great before and after posts, most of which seemed to have been of surgeries performed by Dr. Gelb. I researched his background, education and accreditations and started following him on Instagram to keep seeing his work while I continued my search. What impressed me the most about Dr. Gelb as I learned more about him is that he is unequivocally passionate about his craft. He frequently posts about the trainings he continuously partakes in with masters of plastic surgery here and abroad. He researches and stays informed of the latest technologies and techniques and creates content on his social media to educate his patients on them. You can clearly see Dr. Gelb's commitment and passion to his work through his videos and posts. I am a huge self-proclaimed nerd and perfectionists, so I very much appreciated Dr. Gelb's commitment to perfect his plastic surgery techniques and procedures to deliver the best outcome possible. When looking for a plastic surgeon, I mostly considered the doctor's education, training, certifications, "before and after" photos illustrating the surgery outcomes and the doctor's approach with patients/whether I got that "gut feeling" of trust that the doctor would be attentive to my needs and keep me safe. I also wanted to make sure that my surgery was not performed by a surgeon who performs the same surgeries five times a day without establishing a personal connection with patients and/or not being informed of emerging practices that can deliver the best outcome. The more I researched, the more I was led toward Dr. Gelb. Although I didn't love the operations at the surgery center he previously worked at (that's for a different review), I nonetheless paid a deposit and set a surgery date with Dr. Gelb. As my surgery date got close (the week of!), I suddenly learned that Dr. Gelb left the practice and was going to work at a different facility. I immediately messaged Dr. Gelb to let him know I did not want to have surgery with anyone else and would follow him wherever he went. Graciously, given my particular circumstances, Dr. Gelb met with me for a great second consultation and worked with my budget for this "project" taking into account my budgeted costs that same week and that I lost my deposit at the previous center. He made it work for both of us and I had my surgery with him just a few days after at his new state of the art facility (which is amazing!!). I am ten days post of from a vaserlipo BBL with quantum and a breast lift with implants and am already amazed by the results. I loved his detailed and relaxed pre-op consultation, his attention to detail, bedside manner and attentiveness post-surgery. All the staff at The Method Plastic Surgery is also very sweet, attentive, efficient and very professional. Pros: Great education and training Board Certified Uses latest technologies and practices Attention to detail Detailed consultation Sets realistic expectations Great bedside manner Great post-op care and accessibility Cons: Not really any cons for me personally, but I'll list what some may see as a con. Cost- Fees are higher at the new facility, but the increase is very well worth it for what you'll get. Tough love- he'll tell you things as he sees them. For example, he'll let you know if you need to set realistic expectations when getting lipo when you are also a candidate for a tummy tuck. I appreciate this approach much more than being deceived and facing disappointment later.
