When I came out of surgery like most you wake up scared and confused I was told by the nurse to be quiet and quit saying I'm scared. She told me I already had the procedure nothing to be asking for help for. I was put into a faja that was to small from the beginning. The blood thinner shopts were carelessly injected in my inner thigh painfully. I was literally traumatized from the after care. They have you go in from back of building so no one sees the grim reality. No care instructions given untill I made a big deal. The post op nurses are under educated and under experienced. I was so afraid for my safety I lost the money on my original flight home to book another sooner because the level of care was not acceptable. It's like a assembly line pumping people in and out and discard you when done. I have so many questions about why Dr Simmons did such minimal work and have yet to hear back. Do yourself a favor find other options I should I went with my original choice because I continue to see so many happy clients and the incisions look wonderful. I wanted this for so many years and to finally be able to do it and go through everything and still feel uncomfortable is heartbreaking. UPDATE 6/23/26 spoke to a post op nurse on request to get answers about why a area of lipo was not done according to any of the medical records and she was so rude and could not could not comprehend the question because she insisted on speaking over me. When I asked why a certain procedure was not listed but she claims it was done told me that that's something that they'll have to send me once the OR records looks into it but if I received all my records from everything doctors notes during procedure after procedure my entire file why was it not in there? That leads me to believe that they will falsify a document. When the said incompetent nurse couldn't give me an answer she then hung up. Let's be real who wants to go somewhere give money and risk their life at an establishment they can't answer basic questions from a procedure and when they get flustered they hang up? I just not reported this establishment to the better Business bureau and now I will be going to the medical board.

Staff misinformed me multiple times while trying to get surgery authorized,…read moreincluding telling me that my insurance doesn't cover it (it does, and it was already approved) and failing to inform me that my insurance was suddenly going out of network. Even if it's authorized and in-network, this office will require a 2k security deposit. Not for the insurance deducible, but just for this office. This creates a significant financial barrier and the staff told me to "just borrow it from family". By the time I had that money ready, they told me that they went out of network. Please inform future patients when their insurance goes out of network. Please do not tell people their insurance doesn't cover it unless it actually doesn't. Remember- insurances will only have one authorization going at a time, if you resubmit for the same thing with an approval, it'll automatically be voided/denied. That is not an indication the insurance doesn't cover it.

I first learned about Dr. Gelb…read morearound December of 2024 when searching for a surgeon in the Miami area for a "mommy makeover" of sorts or, at a minimum, a breast lift and minor liposuction. I found the surgery center Dr. Gelb previously worked at on instagram, and there were great before and after posts, most of which seemed to have been of surgeries performed by Dr. Gelb. I researched his background, education and accreditations and started following him on Instagram to keep seeing his work while I continued my search. What impressed me the most about Dr. Gelb as I learned more about him is that he is unequivocally passionate about his craft. He frequently posts about the trainings he continuously partakes in with masters of plastic surgery here and abroad. He researches and stays informed of the latest technologies and techniques and creates content on his social media to educate his patients on them. You can clearly see Dr. Gelb's commitment and passion to his work through his videos and posts. I am a huge self-proclaimed nerd and perfectionists, so I very much appreciated Dr. Gelb's commitment to perfect his plastic surgery techniques and procedures to deliver the best outcome possible. When looking for a plastic surgeon, I mostly considered the doctor's education, training, certifications, "before and after" photos illustrating the surgery outcomes and the doctor's approach with patients/whether I got that "gut feeling" of trust that the doctor would be attentive to my needs and keep me safe. I also wanted to make sure that my surgery was not performed by a surgeon who performs the same surgeries five times a day without establishing a personal connection with patients and/or not being informed of emerging practices that can deliver the best outcome. The more I researched, the more I was led toward Dr. Gelb. Although I didn't love the operations at the surgery center he previously worked at (that's for a different review), I nonetheless paid a deposit and set a surgery date with Dr. Gelb. As my surgery date got close (the week of!), I suddenly learned that Dr. Gelb left the practice and was going to work at a different facility. I immediately messaged Dr. Gelb to let him know I did not want to have surgery with anyone else and would follow him wherever he went. Graciously, given my particular circumstances, Dr. Gelb met with me for a great second consultation and worked with my budget for this "project" taking into account my budgeted costs that same week and that I lost my deposit at the previous center. He made it work for both of us and I had my surgery with him just a few days after at his new state of the art facility (which is amazing!!). I am ten days post of from a vaserlipo BBL with quantum and a breast lift with implants and am already amazed by the results. I loved his detailed and relaxed pre-op consultation, his attention to detail, bedside manner and attentiveness post-surgery. All the staff at The Method Plastic Surgery is also very sweet, attentive, efficient and very professional. Pros: Great education and training Board Certified Uses latest technologies and practices Attention to detail Detailed consultation Sets realistic expectations Great bedside manner Great post-op care and accessibility Cons: Not really any cons for me personally, but I'll list what some may see as a con. Cost- Fees are higher at the new facility, but the increase is very well worth it for what you'll get. Tough love- he'll tell you things as he sees them. For example, he'll let you know if you need to set realistic expectations when getting lipo when you are also a candidate for a tummy tuck. I appreciate this approach much more than being deceived and facing disappointment later.
