Located at the Southern end of Balmoral this is leafy park is a really popular - especially after school.
It's pretty concentrated in terms of layout and often very busy with play being pretty rambunctious, so I wouldn't advise it for tiny tots. The climbing frame is high and crowded. I remember when my little man was first walking, my heart bouncing out of my chest as he wobbled around on the platform with 'big kids' (probably about 3 or 4 years) bounding around him. He loved it but I was beside myself. The platform isn't fenced in and it's a pretty big drop for a wee man to the bouncy surface below. Not for the feinted hearted first timer.
As well as the climbing frames, there's a cute little boat which really engages little peoples imagination.
What stops me LOVING this park is that it's right on the beach. If you have an adventurous child, they'll be off in a shot and oscillating between wet beach and dry playground is a freaking chore after a while. Maybe you're more laisse- faire than I, in which case it's glorious.
A couple of swings and some shade from trees though nothing specifically designed to shelter little skins from the blistering rays.
There are toilets close by, which is a blessing for young and old alike. read more
