History
Established in 2015.
The Hubbards' Bald Mountain Farm has been in the family and a part of the Rutland community since the early 1880s! The beautiful landscape is now operated by the 5th and 6th generation of Hubbards - a father and son team, Ted Hubbard Jr. and son Theo Hubbard III. The farm is currently made up of 300 acres with roughly 60 head of cattle, half a dozen hogs, multiple species of birds and rabbits, and a newly found local food market!
After a little over 100 years of being a dairy operation, the family had to change with the times and switched over to beef in 2010. Intentions were just a small cow-calf operation with maybe 10-15 brood mothers. Just enough to keep the fields grazed. The sight of the large, black, beautiful animals didn't take long to catch the neighborhood's attention. Soon the question, "so how do they taste?" became a regular occurrence.
The product demand and the herd grew, but the garage did not. It was time for another step, and Bald Mountain Market was born.
Meet the Business Owner: Theo H.
I'm a 7th generation Vermonter and our farm has been around for generations and like my father (and his father), I love what I do, love the animals we raise and love working here on our farm. Stop by our store and you will get to see some of our animals.
