I am writing to express concerns about a teacher at Granger Junior High School (Mr. Vedborg) and…read morethe learning environment in their classroom. In class, lessons are often not explained, and students are expected to copy answers from the board without being taught how to solve the problems. When students are confused and ask for help, the responses can feel harsh or raised in tone, which makes the classroom uncomfortable and discourages participation. This has made it difficult for students to learn and feel supported. School should be a place where students can ask questions and understand the material, but currently that is not happening. I hope this concern can be looked into so students can have a better learning experience.

They make you feel like your child is an inconvenience, it's truly so sad. Please parents, if you are in the National City School District go to any other school besides this one. I've spoken to other parents who went through a similar thing and it's so heartbreaking. The principal, instead of helping, will make you feel like there's no other options besides pulling your kid out of school. If I could give it no stars I would.

This is a dual language school giving my son the opportunity to learn to language and become bilingual. Now she can have a conversation with her Abolita. It is so beneficial to learn Spanish at a young age. Her preschool teacher Mrs. Martinez and Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Miranda were great. While some students were respectful and acting in the name of climate change, I am disappointed that many students who participated in the walkout didn't even know why they were walking out and took advantage of the situation. 45 students lined up respectfully and signed out in the main office as we requested. We are currently personally calling those parents now to notify them that their student left campus. Despite our efforts to encourage students to remain on campus, we had many students jump the fence at Ridgeback Road to leave campus because they didn't want to participate in our campus activity or follow our protocol. This is unacceptable. All students who left campus will be marked truant. Any student who wishes to return to campus will be checked back into school. I appreciate the students who are passionate about climate change and who took this event seriously. Thank you for your support.

Ridiculous expectations to pick up your kindergarten kids withing 10 minutes exactly or they are…read moremarked late. They will not release them before 2:45pm but take them to the office at 2:55pm marked late when there is a horrible parking and traffic congestion problem caused by the school. The lady in the office suggested to show up earlier to which I responded that it would make no difference because they wouldn't release the kids until 2:45pm. So to pick up kids you have to show up 30 minutes early to find parking and wait because the kids MUST be picked up in person INSIDE the gate. Every other school I've seen does not do it this way and it causes a big hassle to pick up kids.

They have small class sizes (excellent student to teacher ratios), and their staff really exemplify Christian character. Not only do we see tremendous growth and achievement in our children, but people around us notice that our children are so well-mannered. We attribute this to South Bay Christian Academy. Sure, there are bigger schools - but it will be hard to find a better school, or better prices. They offer financial aid for their students, the students get university scholarships, and their students are able to begin concurrent college enrollment as early as the 10th grade. Plus, the students seem so well-connected to their Christian identity. One of our best decisions so far, has been the decision to send our three children to South Bay Christian Academy!
