We went April 2025 and loved it. Dr Sabatino is back, and that makes all the difference! (We came in 2/22 and a few months after that, and it was not worth the money then. ) Dr Sabatino's lectures were filled with amazing life changing health information. Plus there were practical lectures with topics like shopping and eating out, or another was cooking plant based-- so I can implement this great info at home. The hotel is nice, and right on beautiful Deerfield beach. I loved the tai chi and yoga classes. I will be trying the aquafit class tomorrow. Oh, the best part is the great tasting healthy plant based food, and lots of it! I loved the option to choose to do either a juice fast or water fast instead of eating the food too. I lost weight on vacation! Sharron was great with helping us set up our program, and Giana was very organized and nice to work with throughout this week. I came to do the water only fast and they had a cute little set up with filtered water, tea, vitamins, supplements essential oils and most anything else we needed. We got our vitals and weight checked every morning to be able to check our progress and make sure everything was ok. We had access to it 24/7 which was very helpful. My husband and I decided to go to Balance for Life to celebrate our 25 year anniversary. Our anniversary was right after Christmas, and two weeks later we flew to Florida for the 7 day program. I was looking for a retreat that might help me take the next step in my nutrition journey... getting rid of dairy. I searched the internet for a plant based retreat and when I found this one on the beach I was sold. I was a little hesitant to book, because there was no online payment option, but I took the chance, lol, and it was legit. Phew! We had a phone consult before booking with Jeanne who was incredible and made me feel more confident in the program, and more excited to get there and get started. We were hoping for a kickstart to better health and better eating. Upon arriving we were dismayed to find that Jeanne had just parted ways with the company the week before we got there. We could tell they were scrambling to try to keep things together and rolling smoothly. They had another resignation as well as several people out sick. It was a bit chaotic and I was worried the week was going to be a disaster. However.... Jesi was amazing, and really stepped up to make sure our week was everything we hoped for. Keith was incredible with the exercise, tailoring everything to our individual needs and still not letting anyone feel neglected, he is quite remarkable at what he does. Nadiya is one of the nicest people I've met and I loved getting to know her better. Wendy absolutely blew us away with her knowledge, heart, and spirit. What an amazing person. We felt lucky to get to know all 4 of them and feel like we walked away with new friends. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were served at the same time everyday in a private dining room. After breakfast we had a beach walk before having our vitals recorded and our first workout. The rest of the day was filled with various classes, some of their practitioners were out for the week (covid) but Wendy filled in some spots, and Mica did some zoom classes from Hawaii that were absolutely incredible. We are hoping he'll do some classes for our family in the future. I love the beach, and wanted some extra free time to spend there, and the whole crew accommodated by rearranging the schedule on a couple days to give us a bigger block of free time. They went above and beyond in so many ways... on Friday they decided (even though it had passed two weeks before) to celebrate our anniversary. There were red roses for us at breakfast and a private candle lit dinner on the boardwalk for dinner. We felt like we were the top priority all week, Jesi, Wendy and Nadiya made sure of it. Results: I have spent the last several years fighting high blood pressure (140/100), It never came down following my last pregnancy. I have tried everything. I was really hoping that I might see some change in that during the week I was there... and I did. By day three my blood pressure was in the high normal range. By the last day I was reading 114/82. I was blown away and kind of skeptical. We spent another week on vacation after the program before going home, and once home I tested it again, and was kind of shocked to see 113/82. Was it the no SOS? The no dairy? The exercise? The good sleep? The beach? I don't know, but since being home for the last week it is still holding strong and I could not be more relieved. We were also hoping to kick dairy for good, my biggest dietary struggle. I am now 2.5 weeks dairy free and feel motivated to keep it going. It was the last step in getting to a whole food plant based diet. We are excited to start feeling a little younger instead of the way we have been feeling the last few years. We walked away from BFL feeling very well taken care of and excited to make changes moving forward. I honestly don't think we could have asked for better results. I know some of their resignations must have been difficult to overcome, but honestly Jesi and Wendy created something really remarkable and I'm excited for them all moving forward. This program is a good concept, except the program providers seems to be more about money than providing the services they advertise. They are not honest, they are under qualified and misrepresent the level of medical credentials the staff is licensed for.  The advertisement is for organic and holistic foods,  and an education to a healthier lifestyle, however; they do not offer organic foods, and all of the staff was aware of that, but the guest are not informed of this while making reservations or upon arrival, allowing them to be deceived and digest foods that are not  the best for people looking to detox the body, the truth should be shared and advertised  so that guest can decide and choose if they want and are willing to participate in the program. The website and the staff confirms that the water fast is medically supervised, however; the only medical monitoring and supervision offered was having your vitals and weight taken daily,  by an LPN, (who stated she was a Nurse Practitioner and Holistic Doctor, unable to verify anything other than a LPN)  the doctor who is a Chiropractor never checks on your medical condition, he comes by the facility to sale you a body scan program and vitamins.  The cost for the body scan changed from what was quoted over the phone (increased of course), He gave a written recommendation for supplements but never gave a copy of the data from the scan as promised and paid for even after many attempts and request for the test results that was used for the recommendation . The program doesn't monitor guess closely enough, especially those on a water fast, they don't seem to recognize the danger and warning signs of guess who are in medical trouble due to the water fast, they don't have a transition program that is properly monitored or implemented during the program, no follow-up or exit program. Even once I reached back immediately after completing the program to advise of the medical concerns that I'd expressed during my stay  had become more intensified and escalated  after leaving. My response were  Dr.#1  asked if I had purchased the supplements yet? Dr. #2 sorry you feel crappy,  suggest maybe have a colonic.  No other advise or recommendations for immediate care. Part of my problem was dehydration(which can be deadly) and toxins trapped in my body, that was evaluated by an outside health provider. I spent a week confined to bed rest and unable to travel back to my home town with major health problems and I was the only one reaching out to BFL, I guess they where on to the next batch of guest.  There was no exit program or staff to advise you how to care for yourself after leaving the program, there was barely any effective guidance during the program. Most of the guest seem to be like myself,  middle aged seniors to very elderly, most with mild to major health concerns. I had no major medical problems or on any medication.  It seems everyone  came to the program seeking  better health or to repair some health issues, while the staff was very friendly they do a poor job of providing the services that are advertised. They do a good job of offering you additional vendors each day, each with a claim to heal some condition all with an additional price tag, not that money was the concern for any of the guest, and that is what BFL seems to prey on the fact that people are willing to pay whatever is needed to better, to preserve or to have good health.  I believe that We all wanted and were expecting fair individual results, truth, honesty, integrity, and a jump start to holistic living, for good health .   The positive part of this program was the exercise team, they seemed to have a wealth of knowledge about the anatomy and technics based upon each guests  ability. If you are looking for anything other than a good workout this may  not be the program for you. In my opinion based on what I experienced  and witnessed They are not equipped, prepared and ready to implement this wonderful program concept. My hopes are that they step back, stop and get it together, then re-present to the public before someone gets hurt beyond the chance to repair. read more

SUCH SAD NEWS FOR THIS RETREAT... NOT WORTH GOING ANYMORE.... My girlfriend and I went to balance for life in Deerfield beach in August 2021 to recharge our bodies and minds after all the Covid nonsense. Our first impression was that the surroundings were not quite as serene as we had expected as this retreat operates out of a hotel on a very busy public beach area. However, after meeting with the director Jeanne and her wonderful staff, we decided to give it a try... we both did the juice cleanse coupled with excellent personal training by Keith and were amazed by the results. My friend who has high blood pressure was able to stop her medication by the end of the week and the weight loss was incredible! The sessions with Jeanne and Nadia healed our spirits and really helped give us a new outlook on life both health wise and spiritually as well. Jeanne's entire staff was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. They took care of our every need and bent over backwards to accommodate us. ( Nadia was especially exceptional) we felt like we made new friends. It was amazing. HOWEVER, we were just about to book another retreat and this time bring 6 other women when we found out that Jeanne has resigned from the program!!! What a huge loss. We are trying to find out if at least Nadia and Keith are still there before we book anything because if they have left as well it would never be the same! And we have no desire to go to a retreat that has brand new people scrambling to make it up... This amazing Trio of beautiful people changed our lives and we were so looking forward to coming back and this time sharing the experience with our group of friends. It would definitely not be the same without them. Very sad indeed.... If anyone knows where they have gone please let us know. We would follow them anywhere. read more

I was looking forward to this program after over doing during the holidays. The room was very nice and you can't beat the ocean view. However, it was in a crowded populous area, so no serenity here. The program itself was mediocre at best. The education was so-so. I was also hoping for a fun cohesive group to enjoy some company as I was traveling alone, but sadly with the exception of one person, the rest of the group was miserable on the rare occasion I did see them. It was a very lonely week. Meals were not very good and communication was poor. I didn't even know dinner was included the first day and I paid for an oily overpriced meal at a restaurant. The only redeeming quality in the whole week was Keith, the personal trainer. He is very knowledgeable, has a great attitude and is very inspiring. Due to lack of participation from the rest of the group, I got individual attention during most of my work out sessions. I could have stayed in this same hotel and arranged for the massage and workouts on my own for a fraction of the price. Since there was very little support anyway, I would have actually enjoyed that more. I would not waste my money on this again. read more
