The rooftop setting is stunning, featuring elegant water features and the option to dine either outdoors under the skyline or indoors while still enjoying the rooftop atmosphere. The views alone make this place worth visiting, especially in the evening when the city lights come alive. The food was excellent. We sampled a variety of Filipino dishes, all beautifully prepared and elevated with thoughtful, upscale twists while still respecting the local flavors. A special mention goes to our server, Bon, who was outstanding throughout the evening. Attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming, he helped make an already memorable experience even better. Soft live music was on, and it added to the experience. Between the incredible atmosphere, beautiful setting, delicious food, and exceptional service, this is a place I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a special night out in Manila.

While technically indoors, the restaurant opens its large sliding doors in the evening, creating a cool, breezy, open-air feel that makes the space both comfortable and memorable. It's easy to understand why so many couples choose this venue for date nights and proposals. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. Since we came for an early dinner, we mostly ordered appetizers and dishes for sharing. We started with the Seafood Clam Chowder served in a bread bowl. It was decent and comforting, nothing particularly memorable, but certainly not bad. The Sisig Lumpia was unfortunately the weakest dish of the evening. Good sisig should have some crispness and texture, but this version lacked that signature crunch and came across as overly oily. It was the one dish I probably wouldn't order again. On the brighter side, the Pinchos drizzled with balsamic reduction were flavorful and enjoyable. The Beef Nachos were the star of the savory dishes, generously portioned, satisfying, and perfect for sharing. For dessert, we had the Frozen Brazo de Mercedes, which was a great way to end the meal and easily one of the highlights of our order. Service was excellent throughout. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, making sure everything flowed smoothly without being intrusive. While the food this visit was a bit mixed, the stunning views, romantic ambiance, and impeccable service continue to make The Nest a place worth returning to. I've dined here before and remember some of their entrées being much stronger than the appetizers we ordered this time, so I'd happily come back and explore more of the menu. The food may not be flawless, but the experience certainly is. For the view, ambiance, and service alone, The Nest earns a solid 4 out of 5 star

The menu was huge, so many great options, all with different sizes (S/M/L) so you can enjoy a bunch of dishes family style, like we did, or go ham on a couple! My favorites were the bagoong rice, gising gising, and pusit in olive oil. There was a mix of classic renditions, and some unique ones: we got the sinigang with watermelon, and the crispy pancit palabok and were impressed with the latter. The service is A+, food came out super quick, and we didn't have to wait in a line on a Saturday during lunch time. It's an open concept space, casual, but not too loud. We definitely enjoyed our time here, and I would come back for sure!

My friends planned a "South Saturday lunch" so that we can hang out in my neck of the woods instead of going all the way to Makati to hangout. Luckily I got a table immediately before the crowds arrived and a queue was formed. We ordered the following to share: 1. Tokwa't (Tofu) and Baboy (Pork) - we all enjoyed this appetizer that we ordered more fried tofu. The sauce was tangy and sweet while the tofu was cooked really well, crisp outside and soft inside. The pork was tasty and crispy as well. Loved the flavours and the textures in this dish 2. Crab fat pasta with crab cakes - the pasta wasn't too overpowering but you can def taste the crab fat. The crab cakes were made with real crab and they didn't scrimp on it. Great dish! 3. Sinigang paella and pork belly - one of their most popular dishes at Neil's Kitchen (we actually ordered two!). The sinigang in the paella was a great way to do a different take to sinigang and the pork belly was delicious. 4. Kare-kare with bagoong rice - kare kare was great with the distinct peanut taste and loved the veggies too. The bagoong rice was a nice accompaniment to the dish. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Neil's Kitchen and next time I want to try their desserts.

Yes , we are "balikbayans" and it was nice of them to think that we may miss Filipino dishes that we deserve to have a dining experience here. The place is exclusive, reserve, classy but with Filipino touch. The table setting and its interior decor demonstrates Philippines pride. I was in awe with the place. The server suggested their specialty then I realized that is a Kapampangan restaurant. Glad to hear as we were at Ilocos and Bicol region prior visiting Laguna. There must be something different for this experience. We had the following for our main entree : Lengua, lechon cubano, Spicy Sisig , tuna panga then of course matched with their bamboo rice and their squid rice. Oh my ! There is no room for complain. Each one has distinctive taste that I enjoyed so much. Delicious, delightful and unbelievably good. Pricing is reasonable. Highly recommended dining restaurant if you are into Filipino cuisine .

Serye is formed from the lineage of the Reyes' back in the early 2000's. As the name implies,…read moreSER-YE is actually a mispelled Reyes. Known for their family legacy of BBQ with Java Rice and Java Sauce, they created or highlighted the age old tradition of classical Filipino food instead of leaning to the grill side of the cuisine. I have been a fan of the Aristocrat legacy since I was a kid. In our family, we often dine either in Aristocrat or Alex III, and I would always get the pork bbq with 2 cups of garlic rice with tons of java sauce and pickled papaya. It has been my habit ever since childhood. Up until now, I even bring my foreigner friends to Aristocrat and enjoy the flavorful bbq they're known. Serye wants to focus more on the Filipino classics like Kare Kare, Bonelesa Crispy Pata, Laing, etc. Here's my verdict: Kare kare is one of the iconic dish of Filipino cuisine. It is oxtail and tripe cooked in peanut sauce served with bagoong. I like how they make their own peanut butter and bagoong from scratch, like me, I believe it is better if you make your own components for a dish. I like the consistency of the dish which is not too thick nor runny. It has a nice nutty flavorful thats is balanced with the bagoong. Although I find the bagoong on the salty side, but when paired, its just perfect! A dish that would make you eat more rice than your average diet. Laing con Camaron is their personal pairing of laing dish (taro leaves cooked in coconut milk) topped with the Filipino tempura. This is the best laing i've tasted so far. The leaves were cooked soft with the coocnut cream is starting to separate from the coconut oil and its solids. I like how the leaves has absorbed the rich flavor of coconut. The camaron acts as a palate cleanser for the rich dish. Bangus ala Bistek is their version of bistek tagalog instead of using beef, bangus! Its a great dish that gives the bangus a nice level up on flavor. Savory, citrusy, sweet like how we create our own personal dip for our fish dishes, (toyo, calamansi). Pansit Guisado i find it ordinary and nothing special with the dish. Its not something I would go to serye for. Boneless Crispy Pata is the best way to eat it, boneless. No more hassle of deboning then eating. This is just a stress free dish. Grab a slice and eat. It has a balance of the glutinous collagen, meat, and crispy skin. I just find It a bit dry or overcooked due to uneven diameter of the meat, but its a dish I would look forward to. Their desserts are proudly made by the owners wife, Manila Bake. Pandan Cake is the highlight for me. It has a nice, light, spongy pandan cake covered with royal icing that gives it a nice creamy, finish. Pies has a nice flaky crust that is perfect with a cream filling that compliments the flaky and creamy texture of the dish. Overall, the image of an ordinary Filipino family feast is vividly shown in its array of dishes. It is another milestone that we can show the world what Filipino cuisine is all about. Family. Love. Hospitality.

I got the chicken barbecue (I made a mistake of not buying the boneless one). Well, the chicken is good. It's what you can expect from a place brought to us by Aristocrat. They served it with peanut sauce, which I'm sadly allergic to. But the people I was with enjoyed it so much, they remarked how it goes well with the chicken. Pricing is pretty good, too. Let's just say around Php 200-300 per head for a full meal. And the servings are huge, I think they can last you the whole day. So yes, it's better to bring company along when you plan to eat here. As a small eater, I couldn't finish my quarter chicken by myself. It's super sulit and super good.

A few years ago, we discovered this unassuming eatery tucked-away in a small street in the baranggay when a cousin brought Pinoy-style spaghetti to our annual reunion. Needless to say, it was a hit, not just amongst the kids, but with the adults as well. Their sweet, bright red spaghetti is reminiscent of attending kiddie parties during the time when marshmallows were paired with hotdogs on sticks and stuck onto watermelons or banana trunks. Since then, we've always ordered food-to-share from Aling Lucy's, whether it's their dependable spaghetti or their popular pansit Malabon. I recently just found out they they're actually open 24/7 and decided to dine-in for the first time since patronizing them. After a night of drinking and chatter at a friend's house, we were craving for something to warm our stomachs. We headed to Food Street and our group's ordered a mix of mami and arrozcaldo. I got the arrozcaldo and was delighted that it tasted real - the flavor wasn't too strong, it wasn't salty, the rice wasn't overcooked. It taster like home-cooked arrozcaldo. Now, I don't just knw what to bring to parties, I also know where I can get my arrozcaldo fix - the dependable Aling Lucy's.
