They also do a big range of pastries which are freshly baked and the meet they use comes from the butchers next door. They also have a range of fresh sandwiches made up, but these go quick. The staff are friendly and, as I said, package your purchases nicely. Parking can be a problem, but there are various hour spaces on the roads nearby and a short stay car park just down the road. (This is what I am told by a reliable source) The meat always looks nice and fresh and they are always having offers on for example but a kilo of mince meat get one free. On Christmas eve when I was going to work at 8-15am there must have been at least 100 people outside waiting for the butchers to open to get their meet for Christmas so if that isn't a good indication of the quality of the meet what is? The owner of this butchers shop has just bought the bakery next to it as the owner passed away. The butcher is keen to keep the traditional shops going in the village.
