Baker's Hill was not what I expected. Never had heard about this place before arriving at Puerto Princesa in Palawan, Philippines. Based on the name, I thought we would be visiting a place where there would be plenty of bakeries. This turned out not to be the case. Although, there was a bakery there. We made sure to stop into the bakery before leaving. Turns out that Baker's Hill is a tourist attraction. Plenty of photo opportunities throughout the property. Lots of cool statues of animals and cartoon characters. They have an aviary filled with peacocks. There is also a viewing deck at Baker's Hill from which you can see the beautiful view surrounding the area. Purchased the following items at the bakery: Cashew Polvoron Hopia Mongo Royal Soda Barquillos Yema Tarts All were good. The Hopia Mongo was my favorite item that we got. It was raining when I went to Puerto Princesa and my parents were sick and I'd already rented a private van to drive us around. I've been to this town before and did the underground cavern kayaking and didn't feel the need to do it again. So being a homebody I figured I'd have a normal day- not a day full of sightseeing, but a day of going to the supermarket, grab some cold and flu supplies for the parents who stayed on the cruise ship, and maybe get some KFC. And that day rocked. I like feeling normal rather than being a tourist who feels the need to drink everything in. However, I had a driver and lots of time on my hands, so why not do something touristy? Off to Baker's Hill we went. It was a little scary because it's out in the sticks and there was construction on the road that made it muddy on a rainy day. My driver pushed on and pulled up to this little village in the middle of nowhere and this place was kooky. Baker's Hill is this Instagrammy slice of heaven- lots of fiberglass statues of Marilyn Monroe, Shrek and family, those italian chef things you might find in a suburban kitchen that holds a menu. Nice gardens too. Even in the rain it was nice to look around. They have a stand for boba tea, a couple of places where you can sit and have snacks or a table service meal. And at the exit they sell Filipino baked goods. I got some biscotti, spicy dillis, and some hopia along with other treats. They don't have much in the way of souvenirs other than t-shirts (I'm a sticker girl, so they didn't have anything for me) but that's okay. It took me about 20 mins to look around and buy my treats, then back to the van to enjoy more of normality. read more

Beautiful and lush garden and considered an amusement park with playgrounds and insta-worthy locations to commemorate your trip to Palawan. Your first steps you smell fresh bread and a hilly walk through manicured gardens take you to a look out point of the bay. The hopia and ensymada are delicious! We were there during twilight and missed the Spanish bread. Worth a stop! read more

If you want a place for your kids to play and ear a good food, this is the place for you. The place is very spacious and child friendly, also has a playground and mini zoo to complete the experience of your kids. You can also buy pasalubong foods like hopia and other local delicacies. The restaurant serves delicious pizzas and foods, the halo halo is great. read more

I really enjoyed Baker's hill although I did shatter my phone there. Whoops! Baker's hill is part of the city tour. There is a view point but watch your step! That's where I fell when I was walking down. It's a cute spot. They have photo ops with statues of different characters like shrek. They also have a peacock. There's a little bakery also where we had some hopia. Yummy. Nice place to hang out and get out of that van during the city tour. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE Received some Pasolubong from my mom. I was so excited until I took a good look at them, mold growth!!! Appears mom bought all the goodies from this store before returning to the States. Im terribly sorry for the inconvenience, money spent to haul this gross ass shit to me. So ya, to the garbage they all went as most were molded. Wish I can take them back and get refunded. Shame on you Baker's Hill for selling shit to your customers. This is unacceptable!!! read more

Nice landscapes and superb gardens. Not really an amusement park but a charming atmosphere. Perfect location for Kodak moments! Beautiful stone and pebble masonary throughout. Several avairies with nice birds. Reasonably priced bakery and bistros. read more
