decent place. don't be put off by the cheesy '9.90EUR dinner offer' huge banner over the entrance. clearly the marketing works since the place is full of cost conscious Finns, but since the over ends at 7, the place retains a nice buzz while the menu gets quite a bit more expensive. a pepper steak with decent side dishes is around EUR26, and frankly I thought it was good. It came medium rare as requested, and the gratin potatoes (and thick cut fries as well!) were delicious. we ordered several types of wine - a lovely Australian Shiraz, and an even better south African wine (EUR51) which had lovely pepper, spice and leather notes. since all was going well we ordered dessert, and I shared a chocolate cheesecake slice with a colleague. wow - the worst chocolate cake we'd ever tasted - almost no taste and a puzzling rubber consistency. I complained and the waiter (after consulting with the manager) said no refunds. This is pretty normal Finnish customer 'service' (though the nearby Societe du Couchon holds the local record for worst customer service) so I demanded they reconsider. They did. the place also has a sauna downstairs and a nightclub type space for later, so you could go sauna/dinner/cocktails/dance without leaving the building. worth a look. read more
