She then informed me that they were unfortunately out of cream cheese so I ordered a danish instead. There was a man behind the counter and he asked if i planned to stay for at least 20-30 min. I said yes. The danish was brought to my table nice and warm and it was delish. The coffee, which I ordered hot, was also delicious. About 15 minutes later the barista brought me a perfectly toasted bagel with cream cheese and said the owner said it was on the house. I think he ran out to purchase some cream cheese just for us! (I think it was Billie Joe himself) I was so impressed. If you're looking for a clean, good vibes, great coffee and great customer service you gotta go to Billie Joes!

This cafe also hosts community events at night! They have a silent book club each month and recently seem to have added art classes. Plus, they have board games available all through the day. We chose a savory breakfast sandwich, an Almond Croissant and another sweet pastry. In line, the offered to heat our sandwich which we allowed. Then we ordered coffees, paid and sat down. A few minutes later, we walked back up to collect our coffees. The breakfast sandwich was tasty, though the ham and cheese in the center of the sandwich was untouched by the heating process. Next time, we'll ask for a longer heating cycle. The pastries were good. Not as good as made that morning in Paris, but better than most places we've been in the US. We also took some dessert pastries home for later that same night. My wife's was sort of ho-hum but mine was fabulous. I had what I guess would be a cro-nut?? Sort of like a doughnut that was made in layers of pastry, then cut out with a donut cutter. It had a filling in the center and had a sugary coating. SO GOOD! I like that there is plenty of seating areas inside, two different outside patios downstairs, seating on a second level and another huge patio area upstairs. To get upstairs, you can take the stairs or use the elevator. Besides beverages, you can purchase pastries and merchandise such as t-shirts.
