We went to Copper Canyon with Baja Frontier Tours in 2010. There were 18 in the group. MOst of the time we were on our own for dinner. Very quickly two major cliques formed for eating dinner, which didn't include us and a few other people. We were in small towns where there were few choices of restaurants and we ended up eating alone in a restaurant while the two cliques occupied large tables with no room for us. The leaders all made private arrangements to eat in unknown locations. In contrast, we are going on an archeological trip to Mexico this fall. I told my story to the leader, who responded that she is in the lobby at 6:30 every night for anyone who wants to eat with her, thus avoiding the problem. .
Despite the fact that I find Baja's tours interesting, I will never go with them in the future. read more
