Ahh, the campus doc. Well, here we go. I know I shouldn't say it, but it has to be said:
Patient #1: Doc, I feel kinda sick.
Dr. Baird: Okay, well since I see 200 kids a week this time a year, I'm gonna give you some amoxicillin (sp?) and call me in a week if you don't feel better.
Patient #2: Doc, I think I broke my leg!
Dr. Baird: Okay, well I'm gonna give you some amoxicillin and send you to the ER and call me in a week if you don't feel better.
Patient #3: Doc, I think I'm losing my hearing (IPOD earphones still stuck in ear with Lil Wayne blaring loudly.)
Dr. Baird (more loudly): Okay, well I'm gonna give you some amoxicillin (sp?) and call me in a week if you don't feel better.
Patient #4: Doc, I'm failing my comps!
Dr. Baird: Okay, well I'm gonna give you some penicillin since that's ineffective anyway and write you a doctor's note to retake your comps and call me in a week if you don't feel better.
Patient #5: Doc, I feel suicidal, I just don't wanna...
Dr. Baird: Okay, well I'm gonna give you some amoxicillin (sp?) and call me in a week if you don't feel better.
He wasn't a bad doc, just a little overworked to try to see 30 patients in the hour and a half time he had to spend on campus (from 12:30-2pm). Really nice guy though....
BTW: The above star rating is a sarcastic as you want it to be. read more
