We were rescued by David from Baileyfield Garage after contacting our Breakdown company. We were a little apprehensive as we had only ever experienced breakdown services with the AA and didn't know what to expect. We thank our lucky stars that they sent him as we were on our way to catch a ferry in Hull and we were in a panic that we wouldn't make it. David was an absolute gem: he identified issues with the coils, put our car on the transporter and brought us to Halfords to pick up the parts as he had none in stock. Halfords was not open so he parked at McDonald's so our children could have something to eat etc then took us to his garage to collect the computer to diagnose which coil was gone. Halfords didn't have the parts we needed and by this stage we were trying to make alternative arrangements for our holiday. David then sourced the parts we needed and, miraculously, got us on the road in plenty of time to make the ferry. He wouldn't take a penny off us for such outstanding service!! A real, honest mechanic!! If we lived closer we wouldn't go to any other garage. The car made it the whole way to France and back again and we will never forget our knight in the transporter lorry. I first started using this garage when I turned up on the doorstep with my car on the back of an RAC recovery truck RAC had asked me where I wanted my car taken and Baileyfield was the nearest garage to where I used to live. That was one of the best decisions I have made ! I have used this garage ever since. David has always been 100% helpful and honest about work that needs to be done. I have often turned up with a worrying squeak, or a girlie .. its just not quite right and have always felt I was taken seriously, but have never been told that work is required unless it is. Top notch service. Fixed a problem with part of the fuel lines, which had been incorrectly fitted by another garage (RA Autos in Dalgety Bay). Car was starved of fuel, wouldn't start and diesel was leaking all over the engine. Baileyfield quickly came out, diagnosed the fault and repaired it. Also reclipped all the hoses and wires that RA had left loose and which were therefore chafing against other components. Even added in a bit of off-the-cuff protection to keep the hoses in good nick. All this despite it being 9:30 at night and starting to rain. Very happy with Baileyfield! (RA Autos can suck it though, they won't be getting any more of my business.) read more

My car stopped working in the middle of Edinburgh City.. Green Flag sent out a local recovery tow truck to come and tow me back home and was in formed my starter motor had died.. I phoned my normal garge the next morning to get this sorted and was getting qouted £300.. On the off chance I called Baileyfield to get a second opinion.. Dave was amazing.. He came over to my house and had a look at thr car.. We then found out it wasn't my starter motor at all but I needed a new battery.. 3 hours later, job done new battery and a lot less lighten on my wallet than what I had first expected.. I could not recommend this garage highly enough, A friend phoned baileyfeld garage to recover my car on the bypass after breaking down as I was panicking in my car with two small children, The recovery truck was with me within 30 mins, I was taken home by recovery and my car taken to their garage where I soon had a phone call informing me of the problem which was fixed promptly and very cheap, The customer service could not have been any better, It is good to know there is still business's out there who are all about the customer. read more

My heater stopped working and my car was frozen inside... struggling to keep it defrosted while I drove to find a garage that would look at it.. I was a woman on my own... 4 garages would not even look at it.. I happened on this garage, they said leave it with me... rang me later and said no charge it was only a fuse collect it anytime...
