If I could give no stars as a rating, I would. But here are my reasons and details as to why this…read morerating; His staff is juvenile, novice and down right idiots. They constantly send bills and ask for payments for things we've already paid for after our appointments, then have to fight with about it and print off statements to prove we paid it to them. Do they not know how to do math or have competent office help to keep track of their money? I guess not. Children could do much better jobs than his staff and definitely have better attitudes and service. He used to be borderline rude, but was entirely at my last visit. I confided to him I was not comfortable with the last physician he sent me to, due to his personality and demeanor during my appointment with him, and would prefer to see someone else. He immediately told me to stop and hold on, went to get a nurse then continued the appointment with a foul attitude towards me while she played 'Witness', when I said nothing hostile towards this other doctor, just that I was uncomfortable. THEN, just ups and leaves the room without a word, asking if I'd like another appointment to another doctor. Extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. You're MUCH, MUCH better off going to another physician. At least there you have a better chance at a slightly better staff and competent doctor.

He always made time to chit chat and took time to explain everything that was happening to me in simple terms that I could understand. He always made my mom and I laugh from the beginning of the appointment until the end. He delivered 3 of my children and I am so thankful to have had him as my doctor. My son will be 31 in 6 months and Dr. Balis is such an amazing doctor that even after all this time I still remember his name and how he took time to make a scared and confused 14 year old be a little less scared. I adore Dr Balis and his nurse Sheila. He is not everyone's cup of tea and can be quite blunt when…read moreneeded but he is caring and really listens to my concerns. He takes time to answer my questions and I have never felt rushed by him. He has quite a sense of humor but can be very serious when it is called for. I have had many doctors over the years that I have really liked, but Dr. Balis is definitely my doctor soulmate.

She is patient, kind, attentive, thorough and does…read morea wonderful job of helping solve medical issues as she also develops rapport and relationships with her patients. My wife and I, as well as our parents and other family members all use her services as our primary medical care doctor. The offices are clean, convenient to the interstate/central Fort Smith and as part of the Mercy Medical system (one of the largest medical providers in the region) you can expect excellent medical referrals, an excellent hospital and E R system as part of the Catholic affiliated medical care system. The roots of the local Mercy medical system go back to medical care founded by local Catholic sister in the 1800's.
