I originally booked for the Bristol Balloon Fiesta but it was cancelled due to the wind. So then I was downgraded to a lesser cheaper flight to be taken during the year but with no reduction in price. Because Bristol was too far to go at short notice to get another flight, I got transferred nearer to where I live but then they charged me an extra £25 for the privilege. 11 months after I originally booked it and with 13 (they said 10) failed attempts to get a flight, I finally managed to get a refund. I had a long conversation with the woman. She tried everything from offering me a 'priority' flight, being very rude and patronising and of course the usual classic bullying remark .... 'Don't get excited*. LOL. Her final remark was that if she gave me a refund, then she didn't want me slating them, giving them a bad review or contacting the media. Disgraceful Company. If she hadn't have given me a refund I was preparing to take them to the Small Claims Court. On one of the cancellation days I even took a screen shot of the weather and sent it them because there was no wind at ground level, but according to them at 2000 ft. it was too windy to fly. Seriously? Of course, they should know. They keep your money for almost 12 months and you get nothing but excuses, then if you follow rules you will be granted a 3 months extension, meanwhile they have your money, you still have nothing to show for it and they absolutely refuse to give you a refund. I didn't cancel once. I was prepared to take any flight they offered and still nothing materialised. According to Trading Standards, every time they cancel it is a breach of contract and there are a few remedies available to get your money back. Also it is important to pay by credit card because even though they charge extra for the privilege, you have more recourse to get your money refunded if your flight doesn't materialise. 6 times cancelling is bad enough but any more than that and it is just plain stupid. read more
