This firm has shown a complete lack of basic courtesy by not returning calls or even an email, and I do not believe they deserve your trust or business. I will be leaving similar feedback on every review platform I can find to ensure that other veterans do not waste their limited time and energy on this firm. I am highly disappointed and frankly insulted. When I called back after not hearing from them, they informed me, "We are not taking on new clients right now." What they really mean is they are not willing to help someone with a small issue that won't generate much income for them.

John Bailey handled my divorce case with professionalism and achieved an outstanding result. He was…read morealways available to answer my questions and concerns, was personable and understanding, knowledgeable, and supportive. John listened to me and gave honest and brilliant advice. He is prompt at answering emails and giving feedback. I was fortunate to have John on my side and was impressed from our first meeting to our final council. John always seemed one step ahead, and he provided details that I hadn't even considered. He had documents written up almost immediately that were detailed and accurate. If anyone is considering hiring a lawyer, I would not hesitate to hire John Bailey. John, thank you again for all you did to ensure the success of my case.

What a huge mistake I made. John Bailey failed to write up a correct complaint, failed to stay in contact with his client (me), failed to give me proper direction, failed to talk to me about this case. I was blindsided. He was not honest with me at all. I have hired over 40 attorneys in my life for various business dealings. I have only had a bad experience with John Bailey. Do not hire him. I promise you will be in the same position I am, and that's not a good one. Other Idaho lawyers (John Bailey was handling a case in Idaho, he is licensed there and Utah) told me to contact the Idaho State Bar, which I did submit a complaint.

After being referred to Olson & Hoggan, my family spoke with Kimberly, a paralegal at the firm…read more Kimberly answered a whole plethora of questions and seemed quite helpful. Kimberly mentioned that their firm could assist me in resolving a legal matter and noted that the 2 hour distance was not too great as their attorneys could represent me remotely. Kimberly also mentioned that the hourly rate was $245. I was surprised when I was forced to pay a $500 retainer before even chatting with an attorney but did so in good faith. While chatting with an attorney, they mentioned that they could send a letter on my behalf, send me to small claims court, or have someone else represent me because I was too far away. After a wasted 45 minute phone call we requested a refund only to receive $181.50. I feel like the firm took advantage of me and my situation and billed me more than the agreed upon $245 an hour. I would not recommend Olson & Hoggan.

I was naive about the process then, but ten years later, I am back to set the record straight: Hiring Jonathan was the best decision I ever made! Over the last decade, my situation evolved into an incredibly high-conflict battle. My ex-wife has repeatedly attempted to use the court system to make false allegations and manipulate the process, and even tried dragging my new wife through the mud. Throughout every single challenge, the decree Jonathan originally drafted has stood as a shield for me, my children, and my interests. Jonathan doesn't just know the law; he knows how to handle 'crazy.' He plays by the rules, maintains total integrity, and is unafraid to go head-to-head against even the most aggressive opposition. We have literally won every case. If you need counsel that is strategic, protective, and immovable in the face of manipulation, Jonathan Thomas is the only person I recommend to anyone who asks. In my current profession, I work with many different council and paid professionals. Knowing what I know now, I can say that his pricing is reasonable and worth every penny.

He bowed out right in the middle of my daughter's custody case 5 years ago and didn't even show up for court leaving her alone to defend herself, without even a word that he would not be there. When asked what happened, he replied another case went over and he missed it. Very unprofessional. Now, after all this time, four years later he is suing her for past due fees that he claims she owes him. Wow, just wow. If anything, my daughter should be suing him for breech of contract and not showing up for her in Court and then telling her that she needs to find another attorney that he had health issues. I realize he is not a partner in this firm, and now I understand why. If I could give zero stars that's what he would get. I strongly recommend finding a different attorney.
