It is reasonably priced (compared to other western european cities). I used the day ticket predominantly to travel to amd from airport to centre, to my accomodation and to visit the castle on the outskirt of town. Wheras the metro is quicker, i used the tram to enjoy the city vibe. Do note: - at the airport you can buy day tickets in the booth just above the tram platform. For two days, just buy two tickets without stamp - make sure to stamp the ticket the first time of usage onthe day

On U1, it is between Westfriedhof (toward Olympia-Einkaufszentrum and Rotkreuzplatz (toward Mangfallplatz). On the U7, the same stations but the terminus beyond Rotkreuzplatz is Neuperlach Zentrum.
