There is a top floor, where they have a convenience store, a McDonald's, another fast casual restaurant, and other stores. This one of the better train stations in Germany! I'm biased since I love the vibe of the city of Hamburg . . . it gives Berlin vibes!

The ticket office employees were much nicer and quite a bit more helpful. Every door in the station is open so it's quite a bit chilly and you have to pay 1€ to use the restroom. There are quite a few cafés to choose from if you need to wait.

Taking this line into the main city saves both time and money, compared to a taxi or Uber. The short walk to and from the station in town is worth it to not have to walk far once you are at the airport station.

I don't fly that much, but I must have saved quite a few hundred Euros already. The ease and cheapness of the train experience just furthers my belief that Hamburg has one of the best - if not the best - airport experiences in the world.
