As usual the seafood in their dish was fresh and delicious. We decided to go thirds in the huuuuuge crème brûlée as not one of us could have managed it on our own and the crunch was perfect and the custard underneath was smooth, sweet and not at all egg-y like some I've tried! I had so much left over gnocchi they gladly gave me a takeaway container and I enjoyed it the next day, but you must know how to store and reheat properly!!!! Overall Sofia Frankston is amazing value for money, fast service and because of their location their seafood is always so fresh. In the warmer months it would be even pleasanter. We loved the bistro. The food is tapas style and a few of the dishes were frankly spectacular which was most unexpected. The lamb meatballs in tomato relish were sensational. We all went nuts over them. They had a marvelously deep rich herb flavour. And, they were still a little pink inside and perfectly moist. The inevitable conclusion is that whoever made these and/or cooked them is a genius of rare breed. I could have eaten about 50 of these things. They were amazing. I also loved the sausages and the the capsicum dip. And, the parfait was ridiculously good as well and cutely served in a little jar. The minced duck in lettuce with onion relish was also great I thought although one of our party considered it a little salty (harsh critic, I reckon). The inhouse entertainment was good playing some great covers which added to the ambience. I suggest getting their early if you have dogs as no dogs allowed but a good few car parks under great trees to provide the four-legged buddies shade. What I loved seeing was a number of brides to be with friends having Hens parties there and they all seem to be loving the experience, especially the wooden framed 'branded' Instagram opportunity frame overlooking the vines. It's popular and inside seating is often limited so be prepared to sit outside. We went here on an overcast and coolish Sunday afternoon. Sitting outside was fine because of the mobile gas heaters in between the tables. I felt as warm as toast. We had two pizzas here. A delmeso and funghi. The pizzas were good, especially with a silky pinot noir. Not the best I've ever tasted but certainly serviceable. The in house entertainment was good too. Service was pleasant and lovely and topped things off nicely here. It's a winner.
