The owner and the staff were super friendly! Things were a bit slow but only because it was their first day open - every business has kinks to work out on opening day. However, this place sells absolutely amazing salads, and wait for it, freshly made pasta. Yes, not pasta that'd been made early that morning and sitting in a vat being warmed by boiling water, no. Freshly made as and when you order it! My favorite is the Amatriciana, which probably isn't authentically Italian, but has an absolutely amazing flavor with onions and bacon in a tomato based sauce and penne pasta that is almost always perfectly al dente. This place has taken our office by storm and people now go there in the droves to bring fresh pasta back into the office. Yum.

I tried a bit of the duck burger too and it seemed good. The deluxe version has extra liver on top. This restaurant is big on offal. My overall impression was good, refreshingly interesting menu, serious about their meat and relatively reasonably priced. Just need to have that server take herself a mite less seriously and they are golden. Nearly forgot to mention desserts - fondant was ok, creme brulee looked really good. Overall those didn't seem much to write home about. I would have been more interested in the starters - they had great specials as well as some nice choices on the menu. I went there to taste their duck burger and I wasn't disappointed. It is difficult to compare this burger to other burgers, because, well, it's just different, it's duck. I really liked it. I recently read that their french fries should be one of the best in London. They are delicious, yes, the portion is big, yes, but I like the crunchier kind of fries much more. For my taste, the fries were too soft and slightly too greasy. But probably still better than what you get at most other places. What surprised me, if you go there for burger and chips, it's quite a cheap eat for what you get, compared to other restaurants!

It's the closest thing in the neighborhood resembling the delis / street cart vendors you find everywhere in the US. The first time, I got smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a toasted sesame bagel. This is a little unconventional - they offer it on a sandwich, but they also offer toasted bagels, so I took the initiative of combining the two and they were more than happy to oblige. You can have your eggs fried or scrambled, and I went with scrambled, but I definitely like that they ask (Birley's is only fried, Creed Lane Kitchen is only scrambled). They also asked if I wanted lemon juice and fresh black pepper on it, and of course I said yes! And this was all only £4. What a bargain. Then today, I went back and got the ham and cheese omelette on a toasted plain bagel. This also normally comes in sandwich form, but I really like their bagels, which are much closer to your standard bagels than the tiny things Birley's calls bagels. I didn't get a sauce with it, but the omelette was quite tasty on its own, and didn't really need seasoning. This omelette / bagel combination only cost me £3.80. I love this place already and can't wait to keep experimenting with custom breakfast options.

This would be the perfect place to come for breakfast/brunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The menu is extensive, with lots of meze options, as well as sandwiches, bagels, salads, pies cakes and cupcakes (the woman next to me ordered a small meze selection with pitta - I can't imagine how big the large option would have been!). I opted for a salt beef bagel (which came with a pickle and coleslaw), which if I am completely honest, didn't really do it for me, BUT I should have known this from the start, as this place just didn't look Jewish enough to satisfy my salt beef bagel standards... My cappuccino was good - nice and frothy. I was also pleased that they have the option of skinny or regular. It's nice that they have a big pile of newspapers and magazines to browse too - handy if you are on your own and don't have any reading material with you. In all honesty, I probably would award this place 3 stars for my bagel (and the fact that at £4.50 I think it was too expensive), but for overall service, atmosphere and enjoyability of experience it gets full marks.
