Despite…read moresubstantial fees being charged, no probate petition was ever filed and the matter never advanced toward filing. The billing practices were especially concerning. I was billed for staff researching which probate forms to use, updating internal to-do lists, repeated internal conferences, and constant "status" communications that produced no meaningful advancement of the case. Incredibly, the firm billed for preparing and working on the probate petition, then billed again the very next day for researching which probate forms were supposedly needed. That alone raised serious concerns about competence, efficiency, and whether the work being billed was actually organized or necessary. The invoices also reflected extreme micro-billing practices, including charging 6 minutes at a time for tasks as small as uploading files to their own server system. At one point, the firm even billed approximately $35 to send a text message containing the wrong website address. Multiple employees appeared to bill for overlapping and repetitive work, including repeatedly requesting and reviewing the same probate documents instead of actually advancing the case. What made the situation worse was that time continued to be billed for drafting and revising probate petitions before the firm had even secured the death certificate necessary to proceed with filing. Because probate was never filed, the estate remained stalled while fees continued to be charged. The delays prolonged the administration process and caused real harm to the estate while the matter remained unfiled. As the case is ongoing, I can provide only limited details. After my experience, I would not recommend them. Clients hire attorneys to move legal matters forward and complete the work they were retained to do. In my case, no probate petition was ever filed despite the significant fees charged along the way.
