Likes: + Nice, friendly, inclusive ppl…read more + Wide skill range. You can play with beginners or advanced players here. + Good indoor setting to play badmin free from weather. + If you don't know anyone here, you can join the badminton MeetUp group led by Nora. They meet Saturday and Sunday evenings. Nice people will help get you settled in and playing among people your level. + Though one vending machine was out of order, thankfully there's a second one. It sells water and energy drinks. + The Thai restaurant in the front has a back table to offer food and drink within this badmin area. + They open late, past 1am. I wish pickleball lights stayed on that late. . The clerk doesn't seem to have much sense of humor. Non-likes: - Disorganized reservation system. We were kicked off our court because some people said they reserved it. I checked the electronic display for. It didn't say anyone booked that court. - Another time, two of us were waiting to join another two, but another other two waltzed right onto the court, making us have to wait longer even though we were there first. - No water fountain nor water bottle refill station. - Faulty lights. At times almost all the lights randomly turned off, and the players just had to stand there twiddling their thumbs waiting for the lights to turn back on to continue playing. - The restroom paper towel dispenser only ejects 3-4 inches of paper at a time - Not quite enough room to walk behind the courts. - Many broken chairs. - It may be hard for you to communicate or connect with some people here because of a language/culture barrier. - There's no big sign in the front of the parking lot pointing you to the back. I was confused trying to find this place. - At $11/day, the facility needs more badminton courts. Perhaps total 15 or more. -- Given all these lingering flaws that the Los Angeles Badminton Club has, $11/day seems expensive. You can access other sports with better amenities for free. For a high quality facility, yes. For a subpar one such as this, $5/day max seems more fair.

It was $10 or $11 bucks for a day pass here in April 2024…read more Lots of parking but it was extremely crowded at 10pm on a Friday night. The facility is clean but apparently groups will reserve the courts for hours which makes walk in on busy day especially Friday night impossible to play. Not a bad thing just a testament to how popular this place is! You can reserve the court online and split the price with friends. However I do not recommend coming as walk in as I waited 2.5 hours and only played 30 mins in 3 broken segments of 10 minutes. Everyone is nice here including the guests, lots of seniors, kids, teenagers. There are about 16 courts, very very warm, no ventilation, there is a Thai restaurant that serves the courts directly. They have a cool rfid system to queue up and the lights turns off to indicate the court is moving to the next queue.

Los Angeles Badminton Club - Literally says NO BOOKING. How could those people have kicked us off Court 11?

The quality and kindness of this shop are unmatched. My high school tennis playing son gets a…read moretremendous amount out of his visits and purchases here as the staff always takes time to educate him and encourage him. After the Eaton fire last year the shop even reached out, asking how they could help and replacing his racket and shoes free of charge so he could get back on the court. We feel so fortunate to have this shop in our community.

I call The Racket Doctor 'the old school tennis store.' I've been a customer since I first started…read moreplaying tennis which was when I was a little kid, almost 2 decades. I was referred by my coach to this day, I still come in to get restrung. They do a good job restringing and always put a label with the specs. They are fast and call you normally, within a few days maybe even less to pick-up. Their demo program is good. You can demo 1-2 rackets for a week then switch out. If you need a little more time with the rackets, phone in. They are pretty nice about it if you just communicate. I would rate 5 but the reason I put 4 stars is the "hits" and "misses" when I visit, particularly about the customer service and their general inventory. I've had top-class service from Beau previously, and a woman (I forget her name :( but she classifies herself as a hard hitter, heavy racket, and top spin player ha! She showed me how to determine if a racket is engineered to be power or precision rackets just by feeling and looking. They knew their stuff. The misses were when I came in and was offered help separate times, but I was offered not so great recommendations/ recs that were not what I needed, didn't mention some hint of knowledge that they understand different racket and string specs... average customer service of "yea, look around and see what you like. What you see is what we have" Thumbs down. This goes for the shoe section too. Now with their merch, they carry the popular stuff that sells but you can't get a racket in a particular color, underrated racquets, color shoes etc . No service to have the color/model shipped to the store. Also, I always check the sales section but every single time, I can never find my women's size 6/7 (which I know is the most popular shoe size) but I always see HUGE, multiple inventory of sizes like 10, 12, 14...this goes for shoes and clothing. I've never once bought anything at the sales section in my size, ever. They don't carry fun, stylish, likable colors of shoe models, tennis models..clothing like pleated tennis skirts with pockets, there's no current tennis hat or visor options, sweatbands, eyewear in different colors and styles, no cute bear key charms for tennis bag to promote Racket Doctor which I would proudly carry!...even not much color selection for grips. No patterns, no fun colors. I would be purchasing way more if they were more open and just more fun. Pricing is fair for their services. So they are very reliable for stringing service, and demo'ing, getting your usual Tour Bite strings but don't expect to find something in particular.
