After 2.5 years at this school, I am ultimately relieved that my family is no longer part of this…read morecommunity. Prior to our family being asked to leave on January 28, 2025, my children had already completed shadow days at neighboring schools in early December. While the academics at this school are rigorous and they pride themselves on being a year ahead, the workload had become increasingly stressful for my oldest child. I began to feel that the expectations were no longer a healthy fit for her, and paying for outside academic support on top of tuition was not something our family could continue long-term. I would like to sincerely thank the families who reached out to us with genuine concern during this time. Several people contacted Mrs. Ossa and Fr. Richard to express their concern regarding how our situation was handled, and that support meant so much. Unfortunately, the reason our family was asked to leave, was due to a rumor created by two mothers . According to Mrs. Ossa, it was claimed that I had spread this rumor to other families. When I challenged the accusation on the Band app, (not mentioning what the rumor was) many parents surprised and said they had not heard of any rumor. What is especially concerning is that before this rumor was ever brought to administration, I had already informed Mrs. Ossa that I had heard two individuals were attempting to start a rumor involving me. Despite that conversation, no action was taken at the time. For clarity, I never accused nor implied that any individual was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a married man. In fact, weeks before the accusation surfaced, one of the mothers involved had asked me to support her in a custody matter regarding her child. I was initially under the impression that she was asking for a character reference letter. However, the request later changed to providing a statement against her ex-husband in court. I declined to participate in that. Shortly after, the allegation against me was reported to the school. When administration contacted me about the accusation, I firmly denied it and reminded them that I had previously brought concerns about this rumor to their attention. Despite this, my family was given three business days to remove our children from the school. This situation was extremely stressful and unfair to my children. They are kind, caring students who had no behavioral issues. While the experience was painful, I had already begun to recognize that this academic environment was not the right fit for my children. What made the transition even more stressful was that when other schools contacted the administration for recommendations in the middle of the school year, the feedback provided created additional challenges for our family. My goal has always been to provide my children with the same Christ-centered education that I experienced growing up. Unfortunately, this experience with the administration deeply shook that trust. As for those mothers, you know who you are, and you are despicable. Though time has passed, I am still appalled that my family was asked to leave on a lie you created. It is terrible that refusing to do something, resulted in your vengeance. You made this rumor up knowing it could have had damaging consequences for the mentioned family. I am sharing this now because I always intended to speak openly about what happened so other families can make informed decisions about the environment they are placing their children in. Despite everything that happened, I remain hopeful that schools rooted in faith can lead with fairness, compassion, and integrity.

I have the privilege of presenting at Career day every year at this school. It is remarkable that…read morethey have such a well organized and wonderful career day for their student students. I certainly didn't have one like this when I was in middle school. I hope it inspires 6th through 8th graders to dream big and start thinking about what they are passionate about and start working hard towards those possible futures. Sierra Vista has two leadership tracks for students who are interested: one is ASB which is mostly in charge of rallies and school functions and the other is WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) which is designed to have 7th and 8th graders orient and welcome new students including 6ty graders. Both sets of leadership students had important roles on today's career day. The WEB students designed all the Peanuts and Snoopy themed decorations of the event and gave a speech to welcome the presenters to Career Day. The ASB students guided the presenters to the Professional Development room next to the school library as well as to their respective classrooms. These leadership students were very polite, respectful, and did an excellent job representing their school and making the presenters such as myself feel welcome and glad to participate. Well done, Sierra Vista, to the whole team that made today happen! Thank you to the guidance counselors for overseeing and planning the day and to the PTA for providing the breakfast and lunch!! I look forward to next year!

Guys, these are all outdated. Just look at them, we're almost in 2026. Anyway, this school is nice…read more Not as bad now as it was back then. Honestly, I don't know. I wasn't enrolled here back then. This school is pretty nice. They've got a great band program and a nice principal. There are many events for students, lots of electives to choose from, and sometimes they have field trips. Most of the teachers I have are extremely nice (honors), but many of my friends aren't in honors, and they say their teachers are really mean. School's easy and it's going pretty well. One bad thing is that the classrooms aren't in the correct order--like classroom 26 is next to the field, and class 27 is on the other side of the school. This makes going to classes annoying because they're far away. Lunch is awesome, though. No phones on campus, it isn't strict, but the school lowkey looks broke. (It isn't, school just looks ugly.) And don't worry, no bullying anymore. People are pretty nice... until you see the pick me's and the edgars that sag and think their tuff. Everything else is fine.

There is a fundraiser every month to improve the quality and materials in the school. API is in the high 800 and more near 900 which is outstanding for a Covina elementary school. It truly is the best of Covina's schools. The bad: Class size is large, students do not get a lot of personal attention. However, they are a public school and the best so its understandable. Teachers are good, but you find a few here and there that you just don't like. The Ugly: The school could use a make-over and a little new paint. The people in the office are usually not the friendliest. They tend to forget that they are providing a service. The district itself is not good at keeping records. Whenever we get our transferred renewed I have to literally stay on top of the process the whole time because our paperwork got lost twice in the past two years. I believe the district has had the same people working these offices for years. They really need to do an assessment and hire some fresh blood that are hungry for work and experience with better people skills.
