0/5 overall for my experience with Badgerland construction.
At first it seemed to be going well, Dalton had come out to look at removing the existing floors (vinyl and tiles leveling our floors, and laying down new flooring (the same type of flooring I had laid down in another room, just didn't have the time to do these rooms).
He forgot to quote the cost of the leveling services and thankfully he was honest about that, and didn't charge us for it after as we had already signed for some of the work.
Here is where it started to go downhill. He had given us the timeline of end of week for the full job to be done. However each day when we came home it was nowhere near the point. Several times we had to bring up areas that we could see were not level and in some cases worse than they had been. This extended the job and caused us to buy even more materials. At this point we were using self leveling concrete. We had to purchase them upfront for the company, and provided the tools for them to mix and pour. They cleaned the bucket for this in our bathtub as well.
When the self leveler was not enough, and we had gone over a full week past the expected completion date, Dalton said we could try using plywood instead of the self leveler. We decided to try this as we needed these rooms finished (they were both the dining room and kitchen)
Again we purchased the materials and things seemed to go better from here. Once the new flooring was done in the dining room he began on the kitchen. And finished them both within the week.
We later realized that the old flooring in the kitchen was not removed, the new flooring was just laid on top of it. As this was a vinyl plank flooring it caused issues as they began separating shortly after.
We then had the issues of the screws... in the dining room several screws began coming up through the boards, causing issues as we ended up stepping on them. We found additional areas in the dining room where there were severe soft spots, and now need to redo the entire project.
According to Dalton, he puts a 5 year workmanship warranty on his services. And when he gave us the receipt he informed us he would insure anything would be covered even if he sold the business or moved on from it.
Recently we reached out to Dalton as these issues are getting worse, and not happening in the 2 rooms we laid the same type of flooring in. He confirmed the workmanship warranty and said he would be out soon to take a look at it. Since then he has ghosted us, refusing to respond at all. We have tried messaging him several times but have not heard anything back as of yet. read more
