You can tell they really want to see you succeed, not just show up and survive...although some days survival is definitely the goal. The trainers are fun, crazy, motivating, and they will make you hurt in the best way possible. Alex is truly the best of the best. He is supportive and will 100% text you to make sure your butt gets to the gym. Bryan has some of the best workouts and hands down the best music, which makes it slightly easier to forget that your body is on fire. Steve will have you laughing, sweating, and leaving with arms and legs that feel like jelly. Ben will have you wanting to leave after the warm up alone but stick around for the whole work out and you will truly see and feel the results. All the trainers hold you accountable because they know you can do it! The Camp workouts are HARD. There will be days you sit in your car questioning every life choice that brought you there. But once class starts, the energy, the trainers, and the people around you push you to keep going and to do better for yourself! And it is SO worth it. Since starting at The Camp in August 2025, I have successfully lost 50 pounds, and I truly could not have done it without this place. The gym is always clean, organized, and classes start on time, which I really appreciate. This place helps you become the strongest version of yourself. It's hard, it's sweaty, it's sometimes painful, but it is absolutely worth it. You won't regret it!

I enjoy the small intimate environment . Unlike a very big gym, Maximum offers the same equipment on a smaller scale. He will guide you with nutrition whether you are a vegan, vegetarian , or a carnivore. Even better than the usual trainer Will is great with deeper issues you may be having. I am his second heart patient that he has turned around. I had a congenital heart issue and open heart surgery and despite repeated attempts from other luxury gyms and trainers nobody else was able to get me back in shape. I felt hopeless and was very sick. Then I hired Will! I understand he has worked with other customers with heart issues and other medical issues. Very few trainers if any are able to turn medically ill people into a healthy state. He is patient, and understanding with what you may be going through. If you are motivated and willing better than any other trainer I believe he will get you through it. He is reasonably priced and will work with you. He has a high moral and is honest. I currently use him four days a week and I also do some Zoom video trainings to double the impact. Will is literally the most physically strong man I know and it goes to show you how to keep your body together is so important. I think he is close to 60years old and looks maybe 45. Do not waste your money anywhere else especially on personal training . This place is the only place.

I would go through periods of several months working out on my own, or going to CrossFit, or running, before getting bored/frustrated, which would be followed by several months of relative inactivity. This pattern was broken once I joined Gut Check LA. As others have mentioned, Brad is a master at what he does. The workouts are difficult, no question, but he has an uncanny ability to keep you motivated and make them enjoyable as well. He is also excellent at tailoring the workouts to various needs, ability levels, etc; no matter what your age or fitness level or goals are, this class is for you. I have always been in at least "decent" shape, but now at age 47 I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life and have never enjoyed working out more, and that is 100% due to Gut Check L.A.

Every workout is a challenge and no two workouts are the same. To top it off, he's great at follow-up so you can never hide. :). I've been more consistent with him than ever before in my life. Brad and Gut Check are amazing. Endlessly grateful for him and all that I've been able to do thanks to him.

I first tried a free class one Saturday and then signed up for a two week trial which included an orientation with a coach to understand my baseline fitness and goals and help answer any questions. After the two weeks, had a check-in with a coach to see our progress and chat through future plans for our fitness journey. The coaches and staff at TruFit are awesome and have cultivated a great community. The equipment is great (especially if you're training for HYROX, they have all the stations), the gym is clean and spacious and has an outdoor space which I appreciate so it's never stinky. I love seeing the workouts before class so I know what to expect walking in. And as someone who has zero upper body strength, I appreciate the coaches for being able to help modify the workout to my level when I struggle but also push me to get stronger. If you're considering joining, just do it

    This review is long overdue!…read more Just a quick background: A friend recommended this place to me towards the end of June, and that's when I started attending (2-3 times a week). I am more of a runner, but I choose to strength train because 1. I want to get stronger, and 2. I'm tired of getting injured. I didn't know what to do at traditional gyms and was not confident about my form. So here is a list of why I love this gym: 1. As a slow learner, I appreciated that the trainers show you the exercises at the beginning of class. Also, in case you need to remember (like me), there are screens at each station that display each exercise and the number of reps/sets. 2. The facility is clean and organized! When you check in with the staff (who are also very welcoming and kind), they hand you a towel so you can clean your station. I've also seen the staff clean the workout area with a machine mid-day, which is fantastic. 3. There are three rooms and four types of classes (Weight Training Class, HIIT Cardio Class, Booty Class, and stretch Class). I have only attended the Weight Training Class but plan to step out of my comfort zone soon. I appreciate the variety they offer. 4. Each station has little tables to place your water bottle. Of course, these tables are out of the way of the workout station but are easy to access when you want a sip of water. 5. There is a refillable water station. 6. There are treadmills in one of the rooms, and you can use them whenever they're open! I love this so much because sometimes I'm too lazy to run outside or want to run after a workout, but it's dark, so I hop on those treadmills. 7. They have lockers and showers! You do have to bring a lock, but sometimes I leave my bag on the big table near the workout station, and it's been fine. You do you, though! The showers are great; they've always been clean when I go in there. This is random, but I love that the bottom of the shower has a pebble floor; it feels so good on my feet. 8. Everyone is so nice. I've had people offer to be my spotter and teach me how to use equipment when I was too shy to ask the trainer. 9. Tori, the owner, although I have not taken a class with her, I've been lucky to interact with her in passing. I appreciate that she has given me tips on form and the effort she takes to get to know her members. 10. I love the trainers. Not only do they go around to correct your form, but they also provide adjustments if you have any injuries. I mainly register for the evening classes and have been trained primarily by LaDon, K.O., and James. I'm thankful for their patience ( I ask so many questions) and guidance on my fitness journey, and I appreciate that they take the time to challenge me. So yeah, I hope you consider trying out this gym! I love it a lot, and I enjoy feeling stronger the more I come :)
