This is for Kayla Ruddock, RMT who leases space at this clinic, as I understand it…read more I came because someone said all sorts of good things about her. Still, I kept expectations mild, as I had seen many, many health professionals in my trek to a better neck (ha ha), with varying results. Short interview. Watching me stand then walk. Familiar stuff. Craniosacral, myofascial, visceral manipulation type of massage. Yup, had several of these before. It wasn't until afterward, sitting on the table dressed that there was the heavens opening, light coming down moment as Kayla began to speak. She seemed to casually note the different issues I was having with proper body alignment, one of which I had only vaguely begun to notice myself after years with this problem Then, armed with a model of a skeleton, she explained how this was causing my physical symptoms and woes. Unlike theories ventured by all those who came before her, Kayla's didn't get filed away under, "Hmm..." or dropped in the bin labelled, "Implausible." Instead, it sat right with me. I corrected the offending part of my posture and tentatively tested Kayla's theory. Right away we could see the difference. I went several more times, where I had another (smaller) revelation (this time with Kayla pointing to diagrams posted on her wall). Then, I stopped going. A combination of scheduling issues (Kayla did try and accommodate by staying open past closing time), me just generally liking a more vigorous massage (shiatsu, reflexology) than the kind practiced here, but mostly me feeling as though I had the information now to go it alone were the different reasons why. This last explanation is good for five stars, no?

While initially quite impressed (with my first session with each of two practitioners) I was put…read moreoff after my practitioner was late for the second consecutive 9:00 appointment (the first of the day for the practitioner) ... I had to wait until about 9:10 for the clinic to be opened (traffic issues ... it's Vancouver, there are always traffic issues, so build an extra 15 minutes into your commute); even then, my practitioner did not arrive until about 9:20 (the first words should have been some sort of apology, but they were simply, "Come on in"; the apology only came afterwards - likely after hearing me mutter, while in the room alone changing, that an apology would have been nice). The first morning when my practitioner was late, a colleague said, "We'll, that's the hazard of booking the first appointment of the day!" WTF?! Is that any way to treat a patient/customer?! Suffice it to say that I'll take my business elsewhere ... God knows that there are a lot of respectful, competent professionals out there.

I came here after a recent injury. About almost 2 months ago..... was hoping that I could "avoid"…read moredoing physio even if it took a little longer or more treatments (I was doing sports massage and acupuncture) But. What I noticed is while it did loosen the muscles the day of. The soreness after the treatment spanned days. In that time. I babied the shoulder. And it was basically one step forward one step back. I did notice a nagging pain first thing when I wake. This dead weight soreness that was dull and stiff. Taking me nearly half to an hour. To get the arm moving so I can get the covers off. The pain was breathtaking. Once I got moving it was fine. Unless I bump and elbow or extending my arm too far out or wrong angle. But the morning pain. Was an issue. And sleep. Well. I barely slept since the accident. I'm more passing out than sleep. I can't sleep. Cuz I sleep on my right. And it's my right shoulder that is injured. Roll onto it and bam I wake up. The pain takes my breath away. I lie there. Too sore to move but unable to sleep. So far the only thing that's comfortable is lying still in bed and watching tv. So I decided. Ohkaaaaaaaaay. I'll do physio. I got paired up with Anthony. He's nice. Very through and took his time figuring out which spots were bothering me. I was fairly surprised the first visit and subsequent visits were all the same price. Weird. Most places bill you more for the first visit. Sent me home with few exercises. The place is huge soooooo many rooms for patients. An open area for everyone to use exercise equipment. Lots of machines. It does seem like sometimes they may have more than one patient at a time. But honestly? If your doctor treats you and has you doing some exercise to practice. Do you really expect him or her to stand there while you do it? Or they can guide another person on theirs and come back to check on you? Someone was complaining on her about that. But it honestly isn't that big of a deal. Booking my own appointment is as super easy. They were closed (8:18 pm) when I finished my appointment. Hopped on the website and booed myself 4 spots for the coming two weeks. Cancellation here apparently is 24+ hours. So anything LESS than 24 hrs you have to pay for the visit. So I guess 48 hrs sound safer. They do open really early and stay late. So it is super convenient if you "work" I think the earliest they open is 6 am and Til like 8 pm so you really have no excuse for not being able to go unless you work 12+ hours a day I liked my visit. Will be back on Friday. THEY ACCEPT EVERYTHING AMEX MASTERCARD VISA UNION PAY DEBIT ETC

If I could give Matt 10 stars I would! I was apprehensive of…read morePT's since my last experience wasn't great in east van. I did a lot of research this time around and landed on Matt, I wish I had found him sooner. I started seeing him this past December for a sub dislocated knee that came with a lot of compilations. I had been seeing a pt in east van since March 2017 that barely did anything for me (most of the time it was "bend your leg, now straighten it") and no workouts at all since I was on crutches until almost August/September which meant I had almost no muscle in my left leg and could barely balance properly with a knee that wouldn't straighten. Booking the appointment was fairly easy, I booked through their online site that has bios of all the staff members to choose from. However the receptionist that used to be there constantly messed up my paperwork with WCB so that caused about a 1 week delay until I was actually able to see him. I suggest if you're a WCB case to just call and book don't just use the online system. Also when doing extensions with WCB make sure they have communicated with motion physio before your next appointment, I had quite this issue in this area every single time... upon my first appointment I filled out a couple pages of paper work and then met Matt, there are private treatment rooms on the back where I got changed into shorts and he did an exam on my leg and we spoke about my injury and my previous pt ( at this point I had had 3 previous pt's and 2 surgeons) this was honestly the first time I felt someone actually understood what I was going through and knew how to actually help me, not just say that they could. Matt created a tailored routine for me to start and we modified it almost each day after based on how I was doing. I immediately saw results! He had me walking with balance in just under 3 weeks! That is something the other 2 pts could do in 7 months!! Some days I would hurt more than others and be a bit down but Matt is extremely friendly and has a genuine care for other people, he can really motivate you when you are feeling down about yourself/recovery. I have no idea how my recovery would of gone without Matt and I am sure glad I don't have to find out. I would 100% search out matt the next time I have an injury and have personally recommended him to my friends/ family. I also saw the RMT Jenn, she is fabulous! I booked a 90 minute session with her (it sucks she doesn't except WCB claims but you can always file it with the company and get the money back later). She really got to understand my body quickly and helped with pain and tightness, unfortunately my injury has really taken over and I can't lay on a bed for more than 30 minutes without my knee becoming sore so I decided momentarily to stop RMT treatment. Once my knee is in better shape I would love to continue seeing her, she is the friendliest human being on the planet! She loves when doggies come to the appointment with you and always has treats nearby ;) This physio clinic has the most amount of gym equipment I have seen so far other than in a hospital, it is very clean all the time, has private rooms and treatment beds in the open as well which makes it never feel cramped even if there is quite a few people in there at the moment, all the staff are friendly and the location has a ton of free parking with wheelchair access and no stairs.

My experience with Catherine during my WorkBC functional capacity evaluation was appalling. She was…read morerude, condescending, and made comments about my body that were completely inappropriate, especially given that I was there because of my physical disabilities. When I sat up, Catherine commented, "Oh, I'm surprised you have core." I found this remark insulting and humiliating. Her comment about my body was bad enough, but her response and the way she spoke to me were absolutely disgusting. I left the interaction feeling disrespected and judged rather than treated with the professionalism and dignity I deserved. I was also uncomfortable with her comparing her own neck pain to my situation, despite my having a medical condition that significantly affects my spine. I explained in my follow-up email at the time that everyone's experience of pain and physical limitations is different. Comparing her own pain to mine came across as dismissive of my actual medical circumstances. A functional capacity evaluation should be conducted with professionalism, objectivity, and respect. People with disabilities should not have to tolerate inappropriate remarks about their bodies or feel that their physical limitations are being minimized by the person responsible for assessing them. What makes this particularly upsetting is that I raised concerns in writing immediately following the evaluation. Yet, well over a year later, I still remember how Catherine made me feel. That is not the impression someone in this position should leave on a client. I work in this industry myself, and I understand the importance of treating people with dignity, empathy, and respect. In my opinion, Catherine's conduct fell far below those standards. I am sharing my experience because people with disabilities deserve to be treated professionally, not made to feel embarrassed, belittled, or disrespected when seeking an assessment.

With Jennifer it was a holistic experience - clinical excellence, winning personality, and client-service oriented. I requested we get straight to manual therapy as with many other physio therapists, we spend forever talking and filling out useless forms that have no relevance to me. Jennifer obliged while at first pointing out what may be the source of my back pain and misalignment - my feet. It's the first time I had someone go through all the various symptoms and quickly dial in on a specific actionable part, and for me to feel confident and hopeful that I could actually work and improve upon it. Front desk was friendly and efficient / enjoyed chatting with them at the end. This location is a bit more run-down than their other ones, but still a decent place compared to many other places where I've had treatment. Overall highly recommend - especially if you're lucky enough to get on Jennifer's schedule.
