My manager complained that it was too difficult for him to get in and out of it of his seat, so we went with a round table instead. It's always nice to go out with one colleague in particular, who doesn't join us often. When she does, like she did here, I always learn so much about East Indian cuisine from her. I learned the difference between lamb and mutton, with the latter being goat. Lamb, to her, has a distinct aftertaste and avoids it. I ordered the thali. It came with fish, salad, yogurt and mint sauces. I ordered garlic naan, rice and butter chicken, veggies, and chana masala. You get unlimited rice, veggies, and chana masala. Frankly, there was tons of food that I didn't go for seconds. My colleague did. It is such a good deal for lunch if you have a huge appetite. I absolutely loved how yummy, fragrant, and fresh my food was. So delicious! I ate everything. The garlic naan was so good that I could have eaten it by itself! My student loved her food, too. It was nice seeing her chow down. She was so happy! My manager had no complains. He ordered butter chicken, too. We were all pleased with the tastiness of our meals. Our server was helpful describing menu items. She was prompt with serving us our food and refilling our water jug. It was a perfect outing. I would definitely come back here. (203)

I ordered a butter chicken with two garlic naans via Doordash…read more Butter chicken is one of my most favorite curries but unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the one I had from this place. Despite being on the pricy side, it didn't taste like butter chicken and was very greasy. The naans were fluffy but lacked the garlic flavor. The only upside was the decent portion size but the food was below average for me so I couldn't finish it.

I ordered tofu Katsu, which was delicious, light...the sauce was a little odd...peanut?, I did not know, but okay, and I did enjoy this dish a lot. The fried chicken dumplings were good too. But the steamed veg dumplings' pastry/dough was not cooked enough, and although these were steamed, there was grease too. I didn't have time, energy or probably ability to try to steam them more myself...and a short time in the microwave did nothing to help. I love Japchae, but the entire $10 order was also undercooked...I kept trying to eat the noodles because the sauce was enticing, and I did pick out and eat the mushrooms, but the noodles were not cooked...indeed, they were stuck together in a heap until I added soy and tossed them myself. Very nice people work here but I feel I have to pull my previously glowing review as I will never eat here again. Such a shame: many many thousands of people live downtown near this place (Allan Gardens, Wellesley, Sherbourne to Bloor) but there are few good restaurants and take outs. Just pubs, an OK Thai place, some joints in the Gay Village.... Kind of weird actually

The inside looks like a comfy, but hip living room with a fabulous coffee bar staffed by the friendliest of people. There's long worn wooden table for larger groups or getting to know your neighbours. The patio is tiny, but quaint. I feel like I'm sitting at a quiet Parisienne cafe. The boy and I shared a delicious grilled veggie panini and had a coffee each. The eggplant, zucchini and red pepper had a nice char, and still has good bite to it. The coffees were delicious and smooth. Our sweet tooth wasn't aching that day, but if it was, there were delicious raspberry scones and mini chocolates to remedy that at anytime. I have a feeling this will become my local coffee haunt. So if you're in the area, come visit Stella and I'll probably be there too!

For appetizer, we ordered "Banjaan", "Fish Bites" and "Cavalo Nero Salad". Banjaan was a great combination of eggplants, tomato sauce and yogurt, offering great taste and texture. For main, we ordered "Lamb Chops Plate", "Sultani Kebab", "Chaplee Kebab" and "Qabli Rice". The Lamb Chops was sizzling when served which was very exciting. And the meat was perfectly seasoned, juicy and tender. The yoghurt sauce served with Sultani kebab was a great dipping sauce and added more flavour to it. Qabli Rice was great combination of carrots and raisins and white rice; giving it great texture and aroma. There's Green P street parking available on Queen Street.

Had high expectations of Mazadar as they have a rating of 4.8 on Google with almost 300 ratings…read more There seems like a steady stream of takeout, so maybe the ratings were based on the takeout food and not the dine in experience. We came to dine in on a Friday evening and had the whole place to ourselves. We seated ourselves near the entrance to catch a friend who would be joining us. However, we had to quickly change seats as it was too close to the bathroom and all I could smell was that ammonia smell you get from washrooms. Once we placed our order, we had about a 30min wait as the kitchen pumped out one take out order after another. The meal started well, with some great mantus that were delicious and topped with lentils and tomatoes. Next was the beef kofta plate which came with two ground sirloin kebabs on a place of rice and side salad. The side salad lettuce was plain, watery and smelled a bit of plastic so that turned me off from eating it. Lastly we ordered a chicken kebab, but it came to the table as a plate even though we didn't order it. The waiter said don't worry about it which was great, but the kebab was 5 pieces of dry chicken breast for $12 still......which wouldn't have been worth it anyways. Would recommend skipping eating in and maybe just order mantus for takeout.
