Unfortunate things happen. That's life. We all need help sometimes. When you need help, this is not…read morethe company to call! They turned a mishap into a full fledge nightmare. Freddy and Jason showed up in this horror show. And they both turned into the Predator. I had a project manager Scott Gainey there at ServPro. He was Freddy and started this nightmare talking about my claims adjuster telling me he was the worst person ever to handle my claim, he preferred not to work with him. Then he insisted on seeing my estimate which I was not comfortable with because he was behaving like a greedy grabber predator. Seeing the estimate would allow him to deplete all funds available. When I was slow in turning over my estimate he stopped calling us back. Ok in comes Jason from Friday the 13th, he is the company owner of this Cabarrus County franchise, John Fisher. He was even worse. He accused me and/or my husband of letting a contractor urinate on the floors, so we could delay the claim. He chopped us to bits with that statement. His reasoning from what I gather was because "Scott got us a place to stay!" That was the most ridiculous statement I had heard since "there was no collusion. " We are not, I repeat we are not staying at Scott's house or with his granny. My Insurance company has footed the bill where we are staying. As they should because this is on the policy as a coverage. How did this man become a savior? He didn't do the minimun required for an okay job. Much less go above and beyond. Uh, return a phone call, a text, a smoke signal. That is the least of courtesies in business. Be professional no matter what transpires. My home was to be treated with an antimicrobial to stop the spread of mold due to a flood. I have included a picture of mold that developed after my "treatment" was allegedly applied. I now have mold on my ceiling and walls. The walls and floors are still wet in various places. Also I have included a picture of how they took care of my content removal. My property was thrown in garbage bags and put outside my house. They want payment for treating my property like garbage. These were the wet clothes I was billed by ServPro to be cleaned. I was later told they cleaned nothing, only after I asked about clothes damaged that were supposed to be treated during my initial consultation. I was told I can find my items in these garbage bags outside. At this moment the bill has not reflected a reversal of the fee for cleaning my clothes. My review could go on, however I will stop at this point because there were so many things done wrong at this point it's just infuriating. My tip is learn from my experience. Horror movies are fun because they are not real. No fun when they come true. Don't go here. I would give minus stars if I could.

I never thought that I would've gotten to return home as fast as I did after the amount of flooding that happened while I was away from a burst pipe. They have credited my account and closed the invoice. It was a painful experience, but it does all appear to be a mistake. The response from Restoration 1 of Greater Charlotte is that all of the people I had issues with are no longer employed. ...so I removed the names. Should I fully amend the review? I will leave it up for now February 2024 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am nearly 50 years old, and Restoration 1 of Greater Charlotte is - by far - the worst company I have ever used. It has been an absolute freaking nightmare. ***You can read it all but here is the short version: They overbilled my insurance (State Farm) and then (months later) billed me ($1516.45) for the rest. When we called to question the bill (and why State Farm hadn't paid) they always sent us to voicemail and didn't return the calls. After one month, they sent the bill to collection... and they still refused to answer any calls... now they are placing a lien on our property. *** Initially, they were quickly on the scene and had a contract in hand. I should have taken that as a warning. They wanted me to sign a contract prior to doing sufficient research. The representative told me that we were in luck and that they use software that links into State Farm. That way there are no squabbles about the amount of time (and cost) of the water removal. That they would enter it into the system and the process would be seamless. It wasn't seamless. The next morning I talked to our insurance adjuster and he verified that Restoration 1 uses their system and that it was ok to authorize them to do the work. So I did.... big mistake. The next day they came out and did the water remediation work. They did an absolutely awful job. They left dozens of staples sticking up from the subfloor and the wood flooring was broken in a jagged pattern making it an incredibly dangerous trip hazard. Simply put, we could not walk on the floor. After one month, they FINALLY removed all of the staples that were sticking up, but did not do anything to make the wood floor less dangerous. At the same time, we had planned to use them as our general contractor to do the repair and build back. We need all of flooring, cabinets, and countertops replaced. After 2 months they hadn't done ANYTHING - they kept saying that people who needed to review the case were on vacation... and blah blah blah... but nothing happened. The house was 100% unlivable, and there wasn't even the beginning of a plan to get it put back together. So we essentially fired them from the rebuild and hired a different company (ERX .. which has been wonderful). We thought we were done with this terrible experience with Restoration 1. State Farm had paid them for the remediation (around $11,000 which was a staggering sum since all they did was remove some flooring, bust open some cabinets, remove a bit of installation, and put fans/blowers in our kitchen.) The cost was insane.... and I actually felt bad that State Farm had to pay out that amount. I should have felt bad for me. Fast forward 2 more months.... we received an email that there is a balance due of $1516.45 with Restoration 1. How could this be? State Farm has already paid them a King's Ransom... and their systems are linked, so why is there a discrepancy? And how could it possibly cost EVEN MORE than what State Farm paid? Well, we never got the answer to those questions, because Restoration 1 will never call you back. We would call and talk to the person on the phone and she would tell us that we need to talk to (name deleted)... but (Name Deleted) apparently only works 3 hours a week. She is either on vacation, picking up her kids, at a doctor's appointment, or in a meeting. One month later... we get an email stating that the balance is in collection. A reminder, we still have no idea why we owe any money. Then... the stars lined up and ... (Name Deleted) called us!!!! Awesome! Well not so awesome... she only called to tell us that since the balance is in collection she can no longer discuss it with us. I state, rather emphatically, that we have no idea what we are being billed for... why didn't State Farm pay it like they (Restoration 1) said they would? Brittany said that she couldn't help us, but she would talk to the owner, (Named Deleted). I was somewhat happy... surely (Name Deleted) as the owner would review the case, and realize how poorly they handled this whole case. Yeah, that never happened... Ron Jones never called us back. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and tried calling him a couple more times.... but those just went to voicemail. In the meantime...we were notified that the collection agency is moving to have a lien placed on our property. Good times.
