We visited during their "Christmas in July" event, so Santa was there, which the kids loved. There's a sand play area, a kids' toy section, a Christmas area, scents, fudge, ice cream, pizza, an animatronic show with seating, Build-A-Bear, ornaments, and flowers everywhere you look. There really is something for everyone. Just know that pretty much everything here is expensive. We usually treat it more as a place to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere rather than shop. Even without buying much, it's still a fun experience. The whole place has a fun, festive atmosphere and is easy to wander around. The only thing that surprised me was how many grouchy people we ran into. Come on people, you're surrounded by flowers, ice cream, and Christmas decorations in July. Crack a smile and enjoy yourselves. Overall, this is a wonderful place for families and one I'd happily come back to.

I will say, this is an experience that you should visit if you're in the area. Also a great place…read moreto buy gifts because they have everything and anything for all people. I would imagine this place would be HELL if you dropped a tab of acid because there are so many hidden rooms that are extremely detailed, such as the christmas area. There's animatronics (I'll leave it at that) in the, what feels like, food court area. It's very nostalgic to a mall, serving food, fudge, and drinks with a huge seating area. There's a build a bear, make your own candles, and even a sand area! It's a fun little trip and the outside garden area is very peaceful. The bricks on the floor include employees of 10+ years on them, which I thought was thoughtful.

I bought a dress for my granddaughter, and before purchasing it I asked the salesperson whether I…read morewould be able to return it. She told me yes, as long as it was returned by January 8. A few days later, I decided to return the dress because it was too expensive for a newborn. When I went back to the store, a different salesperson told me that the store only issues store credit. When I explained that the previous salesperson had not mentioned this, she pointed to a small pink slip stapled to my receipt that stated the store's refund policy. I asked to speak with the owner, who repeated that the policy was printed on the pink slip. I explained that the slip was given to me after I had already purchased the dress, which makes it irrelevant. The salesperson should have informed me of the return policy before completing the sale. I also pointed out that the standard expectation is to receive a refund, and that the store should clearly post its return policy--such as on the front window or at the register--so customers can see it before making a purchase. Failing to do so is a deceptive practice. The policy should be displayed prominently in the storefront to ensure fair and transparent business practices. I returned the dress and was issued a store credit. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. I've always supported small businesses, but I will no longer support The Blue Marble.

If I lived in Noho, I'm sure I would have visited sooner. I recommend familiarizing yourself with their hours before expecting that they are open. I am giving this 5 stars for the following reasons: consistent aesthetic locally-made items repurposed items variety of prices unique That said, I would love to see the store expand their offerings a bit. I walked out with a couple of antique glass bottles, a hand-painted watercolor card (only $3!!!), and a few skeleton keys. My daughter liked the place a lot and liked the owner who popped herself out from working in the back when we needed to ask questions. She was quirky and charming and it's good to see a craftsperson (artist) working at what they do. I liked that you had a view into the work shop area. We will be back.

They have a custom furniture service, so whatever you can dream up for your house or garden can be built for you--from kitchen hutches to tables to sideboards to custom shelving. We just bought our first house and wanted a showpiece farm table for the dining room. It was the first piece of furniture that we have ever custom-ordered. We were amazed with the result. Liz totally "got" our design and style perfectly. Not only is the farm table EXACTLY what we wanted (7'ft long...seats ten ppl easily), it was literally half the price of West Elm tables. AND she made it for us with reclaimed wood a local grain mill. Major bonus. They are local business that really cares about the community.
