It's really quiet and the owners are super welcoming and helpful. We chose this place because we didn't want to be in the mix of things in Tampa and wanted to enjoy the beach without the crowds. Clearwater is a great little beach town. We got to unwind and mostly unplug. Our room/unit was a one bedroom, one bath with a kitchenette. I think the living room/kitchen area had a sleeper sofa too, with a shared balcony overlooking the pool. The bedroom and living room each had a flat screen for any TV watching. The wifi connection was good and pretty speedy. The bed was ok, we got decent sleep until the sun rose. My main gripe is that when I'm on vacation, I like to sleep in sometimes - the blinds in the bedroom didn't do a whole lot in shielding the sun. It's a minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things. We also had a rental car and although the parking isn't ample, we still had a place to park at the end of the evening. We didn't get to try much of the food in the vicinity, but there are some good spots to stop for a quick bite. Even though Tampa is about 35-45 minutes away depending on traffic, we'd stay in Clearwater at the East Shore again - it was the perfect place for me and my husband to unwind and just do nothing in the sun.

We had been restrictively locked down and needed a fresh breath and mental break. This quaint cottage provided just that and more. The view and beach access was more than awesome. The fun and cute backyard was perfect for our family to enjoy a beachside fire, twinkle lights, shuffleboard, lawn games, kayak, paddleboards etc. It was fully stocked with everything you'd ever want for the beach - beach bag, umbrellas, chairs, toys, fishing poles, nets, floats etc. The free on site laundry and laundry supplies was such a generous offering. The cottage was clean, well kept, fully stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials and then some extra. We brought our Shiba Inu and he loved being able to watch out the back glass to see us at the beach! The back deck and views are magnificent. Our beds were clean and comfy. The shower had perfect water pressure for thick haired families like ours. The French bakery in front had the most delicious pastries and quiche offerings. It is privately run so there's not always someone in the office like at a typical backpackers hostel so it can be hard to find someone if you need something. But definitely good value accommodation with good people.

They send you a code for the keyless lock. The space was spacious, clean and modern. The tv was HUGE and had every streaming app you could think of. The kitchen was fully stocked with dinnerware and pots/pans if you want to cook. Lots of natural lighting and comfortable beds. There is a heated pool with plenty of lounge chairs. They also provide beach/pool towels and even beach chairs for use! There was on site laundry for public use as well. The beach was literally a 2min walk across the street. Celebrity always marketed themselves as an upscale but not luxury cruise line. The captain and cruise director kept trying to call this the vacation of a lifetime. Not even close. The food: if the main restaurant were a restaurant on land, I would go once but never return. It was local diner quality. I could not even cut the lamb chop or one of the steaks. The Service: if not, terrific, it certainly wasn't anything special. I remember the day when everyone smiled. Still most do but I sense the artificiality of it. The amenities: the ship is old and is showing its age. Our cabin had several problems with plumbing and electric. There are only two American outlets in the cabin and none in the bathroom. So much space on the ship is taken up by art sales, jewelry sales, and photography sales. The fourth deck, which used to be the promenade deck, had so few lounge chairs, a place where people could go to avoid the noise of the over-crowded pool deck. The Costs: the basic cost of a cabin was not expensive, but if you throw in costs of Wi-Fi packages, drink packages, room service, up charges, shore excursions, tips (which are mandatory not optional, and therefore really not tips, but a required added expense), Insurance, travel, and all the other nickel and diming that the ship requires, the costs do not justify the ships mediocrity. I am old enough to remember the days when flying on an airplane was a very pleasant experience, where the Airlines catered to your needs. And now it's unpleasant . I also remember the days when cruising was the ultimate experience, with midnight buffets and staff that put the customer first and not how much they could milk you for. This cruise was unpleasant.
