While I wasn't able to get the item I came in for, I was pleased with the selection overall, I found them to be one of the better supermarkets in the area for overall choice/selection in both grocery and home, the store had a nice, modern feel to it too which I liked. There is also an upstairs area with a Cafe and Clothing Section, so the store is HUGE. I do think the staff could have had better knowledge of where to find items, after asking someone where to find something, I later found out we were in the wrong area of the store and they didn't stock it anyway, he did seem super friendly though. The worst part about this store for me was they seemed to have blockages down every aisle from warehouse cages to even a warehouse truck, it seemed to be in the worst possible positions, luckily the store was large so this didn't have a huge effect, but it felt like I was in the middle of a construction site in parts of the store. My checkout experience was quick and easy using Sainsbury's Smartshop, it would have been good to see them have more bags at the front of the store in order to support this. 4* - Very good supermarket in Leigh, it is spacious and modern with a fairly good selection of most items.

B&M Bargains is situated within the Spinning Gate shopping centre in Leigh Town near Wigan…read more You can park at the side of the centre on the pay and display car park. The centre is a great location to access the town centre and shops easily, Leigh town centre has a good selection of shops to browse too, and is small and friendly. The B&M Bargains store is clean, pretty large and is full of great products. Ranging from grocery items, cards, pictures, car products, gifts, seasonal productsa real aladdins cave. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to spare as you may be in the store a while because there is so much to browse, though all at competitive prices. Once you have finished in B&M there are many other shops in the Spinning Gate centre including Argos, Catwalk, Select, Next, Adams, Card shop, Lovely Yankee Candle store, Stationery store and even more to browse in the ajoining Market Hall where you will find fruit, vegetables, butchers, jewellery, clothing, school uniforms, make up and lots more. You may be pleasantly surprised with what you find. I would recommend a visit.

One of two Asda Stores in Leigh, a rather large location in the town centre, which even has a…read moreMcDonald's. I do think access as a pedestrian into this store is a little difficult as there's only one gap allowing open access, which can be difficult in the dark, so do try to attend in a car if you can as I did struggle approaching from towards Sainsbury's. The store is clean, pretty modern and they had a good selection of most products. They even had a Costa Coffee machine which worked, on many trips to different ASDA stores lately the coffee machines have either been off-brand or turned off, so it was good that they're still offering that service here. The ASDA Parcel returns service is actually in a much bigger, more secure part of the store, I hated using this in the past as many of them tend to be in the foyer as you go into the store and it is so easy for someone to steal a parcel, but it's much more secure here, allowing you to return items to brands such as ASOS and Ellis Brigham with your mind at ease. There is also a Coinstar machine. 4* - Very good ASDA store but always worthwhile visiting Sainsbury's which is a couple of minutes away which has some other different/good food items, and a very good home range which this store can't compete with.

The location is easily accessed, with a large car park, with buses serving the area nearby. It is also a stone's throw away from the DW Stadium, home to Wigan Athletic FC and Wigan Warriors. A large ASDA supermarket is also nearby. The retail park doesn't have much of an online presence, I couldn't find a list of stores and restaurants located here anywhere, which was pretty frustrating. In terms of eating and drinking, the selection is good for fast food with Subway, Greggs, KFC and Burger King have outlets here, the latter two being drive-thrus. The only coffee shop would be Costa (inside Next), in terms of more of a restaurant, there is a Nando's in the process of being constructed (September 2021), but it isn't much else. 3* - A-OK, there is a good selection of stores here.

I find this absolutely ridiculous as there is just not enough time to use the shops in a relaxed way. I intend to boycott the retail park and protest. I think that the media needs to be informed of this situation. I can certainly understand if people leave their cars parked on the car park for hours and hours. Spinning Gate Shopping Centre is a small shopping centre in the town centre of Leigh, there is a…read moresmall number of shops including various banks as well as Ryman (which has a Post Office), Costa, WHSmith, B and M as well as many smaller brands. The main part of the mall was clean, there were some empty units, it is easily accessed via the Bus Station Many smaller retail parks and "supermarkets" have a much better choice of shopping while in Leigh town centre now 2* - Not terrible but certainly nowhere near what it used to be.

They did have some good deals on milk, this wasn't any specific brand but it did seem cheaper than I've found it anywhere else, by some difference too, it was around 27% cheaper here than many nearby retailers at £0.79 for around 2 litres. The store did have a lot of empty space, it did feel clean but it felt more like a pop-up shop than anything, the doors going into the store felt old, unwelcoming and narrow. The big bulk of items were unbranded, there weren't many things worth shouting about other than the milk offer, the staff seemed disinterested and were just standing around near each other with no acknowledgement of customers. 2* - I'd come in here for milk, or perhaps a look around every now and then, but there are many better similar outlets in the area, if you're looking to go in one or even two shops, I'd give this a miss.
