He refused to provide a written contract and then did not complete the work even though he was paid in full. Eugene agreed to paint a bedroom, fix a broken screen porch frame, replace a screen door, and refinish my stairs. Almost immediately, he began complaining that he was not making enough money on the project even though I paid the full amount. He did not even complete two out of the four tasks. To make matters worse, he applied too many coats of stain on the stairs without allowing each one to dry properly before applying a new coat. After four full days the stairs are still unusable and I will have to redo the stairs myself. When I called to inform him about the problem with the stairs he started yelling and blamed me! When I tried to calmly explain that I was told by the hardware company that he must not have applied the stain correctly he became very rude and aggressive and hung up on me. Don't fall for his "I am an honest man" schtick. Do yourself a big favor and hire someone else.
