I do not recommend working with Bill and B&G Remodeling. Google reviews do not reflect my experience, however, Yelp and Angie's (List) will reflect similar situations. My husband and I hired B&G Remodeling to complete multiple projects on our main floor. The project included multiple tasks but focused on moving an electrical outlet, patching drywall, installing doors and trim, as well as adding a backsplash in the kitchen. The electrical and drywall turned out fine. The doors and trim look ok, there are multiple areas where gaps are excessively filled in with calk to cover misscuts. Additionally, when Bill first provided a quote he said the team would calk and fill all the nails holes across the doors and trim but by the end of the project Bill refused to fill them stating that is the job of a painter. The entire process of the kitchen backsplash was a mess. By the end of the second day of work half the backsplash had been completed. Tiles looked like they were going to fall off the wall. Tile spacing was extremely inconsistent, some were so close there was no room for grout while other areas had gaps that were very large. Tiles were installed cracked or chipped. Bill was informed the results were unacceptable and needed to be corrected. Bill decided to remove the worst tiles from the backsplash and try to re-lay new tiles to correct the issues, that did not work. Bill assured us multiple times after this he would be able to fix it all and provide a professional finished product. We allowed him to continue the work under the understanding that it would be a good finished product. At the end of the last day of work once we paid Bill in full, we were then forced to clean our home for hours because of the state they left our home. Upon cleaning up the mess that was left in our kitchen and fully inspecting the work, we canceled the final check. My husband and I were absolutely shocked by how terrible the final product of the backsplash turned out. We contacted Bill and informed him, he did return to hear us out. Bill's comments on his own work when he arrived was "It was not THAT bad and he had seen worse". Bill then brought up to us that his company had all rights to redo the work, he again stated he could provide a professional finished product. Over the course of getting the backsplash re-installed (completely ripping down the first attempt including drywall) my husband and I regularly had to check the team's work and ensure they were doing a good job, essentially having to babysit our contractor. The backsplash was completed but there are still areas that don't look like a professional did them. At this point we were paying him to leave our home and to not have to deal with him further. At multiple points through the project Bill told me (a woman) how lucky I was that he was not yelling at me or further fighting me when I raised concerns on different issues. At one point when I commented on issues Bill told me to have more leniency and be aware the team could not install everything perfectly. When my husband commented on the same issues Bill told him he would get them corrected immediately. By the time the crew had come back to rip down and re-install the backsplash I did not feel comfortable being alone with Bill and my husband needed to stay home from work. Additionally, we were provided a quote and by the end of the project Bill provided a bill that was nearly $3K over the number we originally agreed on. Not once was a change order brought to us and we never sat down to agree on such a price discrepancy. Bill brought up the fact that he had run into some speed bumps moving an electrical outlet, and took a simple comment of " Do what you need to do" as an all access pass to charge whatever he wanted to proceed. I was looking to have a fence installed so I can let my dogs run around the back yard. When I contacted Bill, he came by to talk to me about my project. I was thinking of getting a wood fence, but after he explained the difference (cost and durability) between chain link and wood, I decided to go with the chain link. We first hired Bill and his team when we moved into our home last fall and had a laundry list of projects )big and small) to be done. They carefully walked through our wish list and provided a reasonable fee quote. The work was scheduled quickly and turned out even better than we had hoped. We've used them a few more times for additional projects and know they are very trustworthy, clean while they work, and the work is done very well. They used very high quality paints and building materials so they are not the cheapest around, but well worth paying for quality and value. We've found Bill to be extremely responsive, and always checking in with a visit or a call if he, personally, is t on site during some of the work. Bill has knowledge of the work he is doing and makes sure it done safely and correctly and is thorough. A complete nightmare bathroom remodel. The work was horrible and the cost was high. The owner Bill had someone working for him- the work was sloppy, made complaints- painting had to be redone just slapped on, all over my mirrors, hinges and door handles, no grout in under areas and just not completed. Had many issues with leaks- had to cut my kitchen ceiling minimum 4 times because the owner never got a real plumber to do work. Bill and his worker got in a screaming cursing match in my house- I had to break it up- it scared me and Bill replied I just don't understand construction. Talked down to me as a women- very condescending. I asked for a breakdown of extra costs and Bill was rude and didn't want to answer a women and told my husband to " handle me". I have had leaks and a while in my kitchen due to poor work for a year. Yes a year. I am so unhappy. I can't stress enough do not hire this man and his team- do not subject yourself to him poor professionalism and extreme poor work. He will sell you a great plan but he can't actually do the work- he cuts corners every step and then double talks you when you question it. He begs for more and more money- tells sob stories about family and how he needs payment now. Save yourself and do not hire Bill. The issues described don't cover it all. read more

No. 1 is responsiveness. Bill answers every call and text right away. No 2 is understanding the scope of the project and giving good advice. No 3 is doing an excellent job. We have had B&G do both inside and outside work, replacing wood trim, replacing posts on the porch and painting the kitchen. Bill always checks in afterwards to make sure we are happy with the job. I can't believe I paid that much money for a paint job I could have done much better myself. No cutting in on the corners, the lines aren't straight and the ceiling has paint all over it, which wasn't his fault, it's bc I have never painted the ceiling before, I have painted other rooms myself and not touched the ceiling as much as they did. They also did drywall repair, the reason why I actually called. They patched some holes in the bathrooms, but forgot to sand them down before painting so when he was ready to leave, I told him I wasn't happy and he went to fix it, but he was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for the mud to dry before sanding and then repainting. So I am actually finishing the job myself. I heard alot of excuses and alot of blame on others, but not taking alot of ownership. He did take it upon himself to rummage through a closet to find paint from one of the drywall repairs, and go colormatch it and then paint over the hole, but unfortunately the color isnt the same and he threw out my initial paint can. He did quite a few "extras" like this that I did not ask for like he also used a magic eraser to clean some marks I had on a stairwell. I wish he would have used that time to do a better job on what I actually asked him to do. He has contacted me to offer to come to fix those holes, but I prefer to not deal with him at this point. He was on time and great at relaying what time he would be on site. He also provided me with the drywall anchors and screws that he recommends and about 18" of insulation at no additional cost. read more

After calling for several estimates to have our exterior trim capped with aluminum, Bill was the only one to respond so we went with him. The ONE positive is that he returned phone calls and responded to us quickly. The work took 3 weeks to complete and that was only after several phone calls when the one person working on the job did not show up on beautiful days. He always had an excuse such as he told us he was squeezing us in and that what we expected changed after signing the contract. All we ever expected was a professional looking job. We did not ask to be squeezed in, did not pay a lesser price to be squeezed in, and were not told this when the work started. Every evening my husband would come home and have to mark the pieces that were put up that day that had to be redone. Either it was done incorrectly or looked terrible. I couldn't believe he kept putting up pieces that looked the way they did. The aluminum is almond color and he must have used old caulk that ended up being a mustard color. Unless we told him to fix something, he would have left it. Finallly I called Bill and told him we needed him to come out and tell us if he would want his house looking like this. He came out that day, agreed he would not, and then proceeded to tell us he needed to get this job done. It was costing him too much. And actually had the nerve to ask my husband for a check for the remainder. My husband told him when the job was satisfactorily completed, he would get his check. Well, Jeff "finished" the next day after many more items my husband pointed out were fixed. We paid the balance just to be done with them. Still not happy with the finished project, but we will take care of the rest ourselves, such as cleaning all the smeared caulk off the aluminum and recaulking much of it because his caulk job is not professional looking at all. read more
