With it's completion, I requested, and had a walk thru in February with the owner. Final payment was made. Promises were made. By the way, not kept. In the end, the room is OK. It could be great. Where this company fell short is "fit and finish" and attention to details. Wall slightly out of square, gaps in joints. Even 1/2 the 25 or so panel latches were installed upside down. And, of course poor communication and finishing the job as promised (face to face) . I'd say find another company.

They asked if they could go on my roof to check how extensive the damage was and after they took pictures and contacted my insurance company I was so shocked when the claim was approved by my insurance company. So apparently they knew what they were doing. I especially liked how they were willing to go the extra mile to offer their help that was not a part of the roofing service, like even offering to cut my grass before the workers came to do the work. I feel like they are a part of my family. When the roofing was complete I was extremely satisfied because it only took one day for completion and the company did an excellent job of making sure everything was clean in the grass area, the driveway and they even wiped down my white siding so everything would look great. The owner of the company came to make sure everything was delivered and he was very sociable and curious. I definitely recommend Black Spade Roofing Company if you need your roof to be done professionally as if they were doing their own. I rate Black Spade Roofing Company a 5 Star Company from my experience!

It took 3 plumbing contractors before a company could even find exactly where the leak was under the slab; the first two contractors said "around here", but could not "promise" that they wouldn't have to chase a leak; if they were wrong. After we found the exact location, we had to find a contractor who could cut into the slab, repair the copper water line, prepare the slab for re-tiling, tiling options, and repair the drywall hole - and paint. That's where Vanessa of Evangeline Construction came into the picture. She did a great job assessing what was needed - and arranged the work in a timely manner. The plumber (and concrete worker) did a great job repairing the water line and prepping area for re-tiling. Their tiler's did a great job harvesting the same tile from a different part of the house - to fix the repair area, and installed new tile for the front entryway. We are very, very happy with the work Evangeline Construction did for our home. Thanks a bunch, Vanessa! :)

We put in an RFP with LCP to change it to all concrete and Kyle came out the next day to meet with me about the project. It was clear by the way he spoke and the questions he asked that he had the knowledge and experience for this job, and was extremely professional. I had a formal estimate later that day. Of the 5-6 RFPs I sent out to other companies, he was the only one that filled out a detailed estimate, with on-time and fast communication. So he won the job and did an excellent job. Our parking lot looks immaculate. Him and his team were extremely skilled, detail oriented, measured everything out perfectly. They provided their thoughts on ways to make it look perfect, and best of all, they were fast. I could not believe how fast they laid down the concrete. The team was so efficient, kind, and didn't leave any mess at all behind. Kyle came back so many times after to ensure it was setting properly, to score it, to add parking blocks, etc. He was always willing to come back and check things out and go the extra mile for us. With a few exceptions our experiences have been generally positive but John Syrjala Jr. is far and away the best contractor we have ever worked with. The primary project was to replace a wooden staircase with a brick one. I was expecting that building a brick staircase would be significantly more expensive than a wood replacement but Mr. Syrjala's bid was actually less than some of the wood-based bids. Without reservation I can say that Mr. Syrjala's prices are very reasonable! Mr. Syrjala is an amazing, professional mason who works carefully and takes no shortcuts. The demolition of the old staircase was accomplished quickly, there was no mess and he carted away all the old material. He then dug and poured a cement footing, despite it being a relatively small area he used enough rebar to support a major structure. He found brick that was a perfect match to our 12-year-old home and did a beautiful job of building the stairs. During the two weeks he worked at our home there was never a time that there was any mess and he left the area around the project site looking better than before he started. The stairs look great! We also had Mr. Syrjala complete a hardscape project for us and construct some foundation piers, this work was done to the same high standards and at very reasonable cost. We recommend Mr. Syrjala without reservation, and are confident that you would have an equally positive experience.
