This place just may be the best restaurants on Koepenick, if it wasnt for thier poor and slow…read moreservice, this would be a fairly good place to eat. it took nearly 55 min to get food upon ordering! and the place was not even busy, this was at 1pm on a Sunday. This place is located almost right next to the Capt Koepenik statue, and close to the castle island as well. It's in the basement, and is nicely themed with a jazz style decor. It was like a Berlin Speak Easy in a sense.
I ordered off thier regular menu, but they do have specials that are only written in German - so no luck there. I got the crispy perch which sat on a helping of gherkin potato dill salad. the fish was crisp, and moist but did need a dash of salt, but the potato salad (which was served warm, fyi) was darn good. I'd definitely recommend this dish. 3 people in my group got the vegan ravioli, which according to them, tasted like cardboard with the texture of chewing gum - neither of them are vegan, so perhaps they're not used to vegan food lol.
