We've been going to the OBT location for over a decade. I assumed I was going to get the same quality service and yummy eats. I definitely did and the decor exceeded my expectations. This location was stunning! Definitely go and check out those lunch specials! They offer an amazing happy hour and Taco Tuesday deal too.

They have gone to some upgrades. The menu is now a tablet. Their food is good/ok. They try to help by making the plate to hot to touch. I like their taco el pastor and their tamale. Their table salsa is good and chunky..ask for the hot

The decor of this restaurant is very unique and pleasing, and the ambience is casual and nice. We visited Azteca is part of a large group. The restaurant was very accommodating in switching the seating around so that we were all comfortable and could enjoy our conversation with one another. Going above and beyond to make sure that your patrons are seated in a comfortable location is a very nice touch. The server was friendly and thorough in answering all of our questions. The food was delivered quickly, and accurately, and it was very tasty.

In the city for work and this was close to our hotel. This is a laid back casual spot. Food: Excellent, I decided to go with the Macho Burrito with Picadillo and got a side of sweet plantains. The burrito was flavorful and big enough for anyone's appetite. Service: Excellent, we were greeted as we arrived by a host at a reception type desk, he and our waiter David were equally friendly and polite. Our waiter was helpful and attentive and even went the extra mile. Ambiance: Welcoming environment, with a laid back feel. Modern vibes, full bar and booth seating. Nice tree art in one of the dining areas.

Visited for happy hour and really enjoyed our drinks! Bartender was excellent and attentive. Personally ordered the taquitos appetizer and was not impressed. Would visit again for happy hour!

Chicken quesadilla with double rice instead of beans. It was generous and alright.

It was the cowboy's (my) 45th birthday and it was chosen to eat here. We made a reservation for three people at 6pm on a Sunday. When we checked in, we were seated in a booth. I was told that Sunday had all day happy hour, so I did 2 for house margaritas. While it was served in a large glass, it was weaker than a stubborn burro. I knew one of my guest wanted it with less alcohol, but perhaps my server mistakenly thought that I wanted it weak as well. I was pretty sure I requested the normal alcohol amount. If it was the normal amount, then they should call it the triste hour instead since we didn't enjoy it. For my entree, I took the chicken fajita quesadilla with double rice, no beans. There was a generous amount of quesadillas and inside had nice amounts of chicken, veggies, and cheese. They tasted alright. The tortilla was grilled nicely. The included guacamole and sour cream could have been bigger sized, but was good. The Mexican rice was filling enough. When I asked for hot sauce, I was given a salsa that had a smoky flavor instead of bringing the heat. The service was ok. They were helpful when we had a couple requests. There was a photographer taking photos, which we were given a free small photo, and them trying to sell us other larger photos. I wasn't impressed by this and also didn't enjoy being asked to get very close together. The atmosphere looks like you are in the outdoors with various fake trees inside. There is ample amount of seating, as well as a bar too. I did smell a bit of chemical cleaner when we arrived. While I do enjoy the branch in West Colonial Drive, the UCF branch doesn't seem up to par. With the weak and almost tasteless margarita, the chemical smell when seated to our table, and the unnecessary photographer, this didn't make my 45th birthday festive and felize. The only redemption was the decent service from our server, nice atmosphere, and passable quesadillas. I will most likely avoid this branch and stick with the West Colonial branch instead.

Stopped here after church on Sunday 3/16 because we wanted something authentic. There wasn't a single piece of food that was packed with flavor. The service was on point. The food presentation was on point. The street tacos were untouchable, UNTOUCHABLE. Show me a better street taco! They served us food that actually slowed down time and space every time I took a bite. It was like crunch, then everything was in slow motion , couple of head nods, cheeks enlarged because of the smiles and all you could do enjoy the experience and awaken taste buds that have never truly understood what street tacos were! I cannot wait to come back to town and go here again. It was a very popular restaurant, good for groups, friends, families and all ages.

I was in Orlando the weekend of July 28 so on Saturday I was on the search for Mexican food as it's my favorite this placed popped up with great reviews so there I went the atmosphere was phenomenal it was a beautiful restaurant incredible service and great food! The Equites was so tasteful , love me some chips & salsa , my drink was refreshing, the shrimp from the fajitas were phenomenal although the steak was a lil rough over cooked it still tasted good if I revisit since I am an out of towner I would definitely advised them not to overcook the meat! My daughter steak was much better and not rough I do highly recommend this place !

Chips and salsa...I forgot to take a pic of anything else.

Full disclosure...my wife is of Mexican heritage. Her parents are from Jalisco and she was born in East LA (yes I sing the song to her any time I can make an excuse to do so ). My mother in law taught me to make her style of salsa (they call it chile, sounds like cheelay). I make red and green. My wife makes homemade enchiladas, gorditas, tacos, sopa de fideo, rice, beans, etc. I guess bear that in mind. The ambiance was fun. The staff was very friendly. We were seated quickly and in good spot. The chips. Stale. No salt. Not warm. Salsa. Has potential. There are some char marks in there so some of its grilled. Decent flavor. No spice. Like none. I ordered carne asada steak. I love skirt steak, it's one of my favorite cuts. My wife had it chicken enchiladas. She said they were ok, which means she didn't like them. Listen my steak was cooked perfectly. I mean perfect. Tender. Soft. Medium. Man it looked so good. They didn't season it. It was hands down the most bland cut of meat I've ever tasted. My wife is not a big salt person. I had her try it and she didn't taste any salt or anything else either. She looked at me and said, "Did they forgot to put salt on it?" Although the staff was great, the ambiance was fun, I wouldn't go back for food...it was very uninspiring.

Absolutely love the ambience in this little place. The trees are super cool and the unique lanterns give off a romantic hue. The combination platter was good, but not great. The couple who had the fajitas said they were very good. The macho burrito was huge and my husband said it was tasty. Kind of funny, but I think the chips and salsa was the highlight.

Anna P.

The food is a little too pricy for the food quality. The steak is a little bland and it wasn't as juicy and tender. The staffs were very nice and very accommodating!

Of course, the food was delicious, but it was so much more than that. The timing of the food being served was excellent, and the setup was absolutely perfect when we arrived. There were so many moments throughout the evening when I thought, "This is perfect!" From beginning to end, everything was so thoughtfully and beautifully taken care of. What stood out most was the incredible hospitality and how flexible and accommodating the entire team was with all of our requests. We contacted many restaurants while planning our event, but this restaurant was truly the standout. Sheryl, the Event & Sales Coordinator, was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process. Even through our email communication, I could feel how warm, kind, and genuinely helpful she was. Her communication gave me such confidence and reassurance, and that is one of the main reasons we chose this restaurant for our event. When we arrived on the day of the dinner, the manager and our two servers, Josselin and Alyssa, introduced themselves and told us, "We're here for you, so please let us know if you need anything." And they truly meant it. They didn't just say it--they showed it through their actions throughout the entire evening. I was organizing this gathering, with many people meeting each other for the first time, so I was honestly quite nervous going into the evening. Their support, attentiveness, and warm hospitality made me feel incredibly comfortable and reassured. Another thing that really impressed me was that every member of the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. They were smiling, friendly, and seemed to truly enjoy working together. That positive atmosphere made our evening even more special. I can say with 100% confidence that this was the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I live in California, but I would honestly travel to Florida just to visit this restaurant again. Sheryl, Josselin, Alyssa, the manager, and every single member of the team--thank you from the bottom of my heart for making our evening so special and memorable. I am truly grateful to all of you. Thank you so much!

From the moment I walked in, the service, atmosphere, and overall experience were top notch. I ordered the skinny margarita and it was SO good that I obviously had to have more than one . I also got the School Tacos, which were really tasty and hit the spot. And then, to my complete surprise, there was a short live performance with a guy doing tricks with fire rods (not sure what the official term is, but it was pretty damn cool). Definitely not something I expected when I walked in for dinner! If you're staying or working around the Orange County Convention Center, I'd absolutely recommend making a stop here. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and a fun experience that I wasn't expecting. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!

Then I had to go up to the bar to refill my soft drink. We had to request our bill. As people were clearing out to go to the concert, none of the tables were being bussed. We had to then find someone to ask for our bill. Let's just say I won't be returning to this restaurant. If you don't have staff, don't allow reservations. So for $65 we got a margarita, a soft drink, a steak quesadilla, a shrimp burrito bowl while we served ourselves and had to look at a dirty restaurant. Not exactly what we were seeking before our fun night out! Wish I had taken a picture to show how messy the place looked for at least half of our meal.

5 Star update because this is still my go-to for exceptional tacos from a family-owned business!…read more(pro-tips: 1) get the fish taco immediately, 2) bring your vegetarian friends) I've been coming to Black Rooster since they first opened, but had to update my COVID-era review (because those times were straaange). I'm a creature of habit and am thankful for a restaurant that stays consistent in terms of quality and experience! PLUS, my husband and I can both find tons of options to eat here (not always easy when you're married to a vegetarian!). The vegetarian friendly options include their black beans, smoked greens taco, plantains, kale caesar salad, kale salad, BR nachos, and of course the chips, salsa, and made-to-order guac. My absolute faves food-wise: - The Smoked Greens taco. I'm not a vegetarian, but this vegetarian taco rivals any of its meat compadres. Made up of kale, shiitake mushroom, plantain, onion, ricotta cheese, and cilantro, this bad boy is smokey with that perfect little addition of sweet from the plantain. Truly a favorite! - The Black Rooster Asada. It looks pretty simple- some brown meat with cilantro on top. But don't let it's appearance deceive you! It's actually filled with seared beef, apple wood smoked bacon, Oaxaca cheese, chile poblano, onion, cilantro, 3 chile-tomato salsa. Because all of the ingredients are tossed together you get a wallop of flavor, with that basic look. She's not ideal for a colorful taco Instagram pic, but she's got more flavor then you can imagine! Spice level- Mild/Medium - Fish Taco. For a more picture-worthy option, this one's got colors upon colors! Crispy beer battered and local, pickled cabbage, remoulade sauce, avocado, cilantro, radish mean it's green, white, orange, purple, etc etc. She's a looker, but the flavor is there to back it up. Without a doubt this is my favorite fish taco in town. - Cilantro Poblano Rice. We love a green rice, and I could eat this on its own all day every day. Don't miss out on this often-overlooked side! Overall, a really wonderful business featuring great ingredients (including house-made tortillas). (and you can order delivery right from their website!)

While we were eating, the owner came over around 11:15 and barked, "Time to go--leave, leave, leave," as if he were chasing animals out of his restaurant. To be clear, I have no problem with being asked to leave after closing. The problem was the owner's arrogant, aggressive, and humiliating way of speaking to paying customers. We were not loud, causing trouble, or refusing to leave. One polite sentence would have solved everything. The most disturbing part is that this was not an untrained employee--it was the OWNER. That means the disrespect comes directly from the top. He was happy to accept our money at 10:50, but twenty minutes later treated us like garbage he needed removed. Good food cannot compensate for an owner who shows this much contempt toward his own customers. There are plenty of taco restaurants in Orlando run by people who understand basic manners and appreciate your business. Spend your money at one of them. I will never return to Black Rooster Taqueria, and I strongly recommend avoiding it.
